And they will but as a set of fans we are far too impatient. The full group has had three league games, all against top sides and we've competed well in them all. It will come good but people expect players to fit in effortlessly and adapt to new style and formation instantly when the reality is it takes a lot of time.
Unreliable media say Traore is out Monday (leg injury. If true, who the hell can play LB? Read on here Onouha was no good there, Hill is a solid CB but seems too slow for LB, though he is a possibility, Nelson? Dyer with Onouha RB - I guess not. Anyone think M'bia can play LB?
All true. Trouble is, we need a win so that the players can relax a little and really get into the season. Even Park on the offish has said Monday is a huge game. They're coming under pressure to win one which will only get more pronounced the longer it goes on. I acknowledge that we have a good squad and pretty impressive team, when all fit. My problem is that I am yet to be convinced that MH can get them playing in the right formation. Battling performances against top sides that get a point or nothing will not keep us up. We need to select teams that can beat the so called lesser sides, especially at home. Time will tell, and as you often say, we must give it that time.
Onuoha was excellent there at Spurs. Would personally play Hill there with Nelsen and Mbia in the middle.
--------------------------Cesar----------------------- Dyer---------------Mbia---------Nelson-----------Onuoha --------------Diakite----------------Faurlin------------ Park---------------------Granero---------------Hoilett -------------------------Zamora----------------------- If Diakite/Faurlin arent ready, play taarabt and partner Granero with the other midfielder.

Had enough of this pansy. Try and sell in January if we can get him off the treatment table long enough.
This team, with Hill instead M'Bia. __________________________________________________ Get well soon Col
Good Call. Shame because he has potential, but too weedy and some attitude problems, suspect he is none too bright, and definitely lacks concentration, loves staring into the middle distance. If Uncle Arsene who likes these delicate flowers let him go, should tell us what we need to know. Two or three great crosses last year total contribution to date.
For me Hill and Nelsen seem to be getting a good partnership going so I wouldn't upset that at the moment. Diakte doesn't seem fit enough\stable enough to be playing at the moment so if we are going to put a third in Midfield put in M'Bia. Unless we play BZ and Cisse I just don't see where the goals are going to come from. Don't see Graneo\Faurlin\Hoilett\Park getting in the box to support BZ and by himself it will be very difficult it get the opening. Formation will depend on the whether you see the stability in Midfield more of a problem that the Goal scoring threat. I think we need two up front. WH should be a team we can play the same formation as and beat, as man for man I think we are better, MHs need to be prepared to change formation quickly, which he seems to have problems with. People are going to complain if you don't play 2 up front at home and people are going to complain if the Midfield gets over run because your not playing 3 there. MH should have learn't from the reading game and be prepared to change though I can see it hard for him to change from the Spud game (bar the injuries).
This. You say they're not winning Col, well the only thing we can control is the performance. They've been performing well, and the points will inevitably come from that. My only slight concern is whether we happen to just be raising our games Vs the stronger sides though.. A spurs performance V West Ham and we'll win. The most likely side to put in a spurs performance, is the side that performed against spurs.
Some good points here Vale, especially this one. You probably right when you say Hill and Melsen should be kept together, especially against a big strong team like west ham. I think we need to find a way to adress both with M'bia maybe playing DCM, and playing Cisse as well as Zamora. There could be a place for M'bia anyway if Ale isn't fully recovered, and Cisse (or Hoilett) and Adel could replace Park and SWP to give us a bigger threat up front.
Cesar Dyer (who'd have thought?!) Nelsen, Mbia, Hill Hoilett, Granero, Faurlin, Park Taarabt Zamora Cisse & Mackie on for Park and Zamora with 30 mins to go if still 0-0. Rangers 1-0 with Granero to score from 25 yards out with a peachy free kick in the last knockings of the match.
Correct. The way things are shaping up we can't keep a clean sheet and we simply need to score more than the opposition to win. So 4-3-3 for me and I don't think that suits BZ. Not an ice cube's chance in hell of MH doing that of course.
Nor should he. If Cisse gets caught offside 10 times a game that's another ten attacks of ours that come to nothing and another ten opportunities for West Ham to hoof the ball into our area. He needs to majorly up his workrate to justify getting in ahead of Zamora who has been excellent.
West ham are very physical, we need someone who'll go toe to toe with their big men, Zamora's the only person who can do it.
