I´ am going through mixed emotions right now. Here´s the story. 2-1 WBA, I´d watched it til the 78th min, the kids start kicking off. "Dad we´re hungry" "yeah, I´ll make some thing after the football" I said. "Yeah but we´re hungry, we want some cobs" "FFS" In the kitchen, foods done, come back & it´s 2-2 F*** & Get in. Then the mother in law comes around, WHY ? **** knows her daughter´s working FFS. Then comes 1000 Q´s & I´m away from the PC yet again, around about the 89th min. I come back & it´s 3-2 to LC. Again, F*** & get in. The moral of the story. FFS. I missed a fantastic fight back, a very much needed 3 pts & by all accounts 2 good goals. Well done LCFC & really nice to see Nugent & Vardy on the score sheet & not forgetting Huth, the `big Kraut fresser` 1st goal (if I´m not mistaken ?)
If we beat Swansea next week and other results go our way we can be out of the bottom 3! Crazy to think that possible so quick 8 days ago
At this stage I´d say that QPR, Sunderland & Burnley are not playing as well as we are, but I guess that means F*** all in football. I don´t want to get to cocky but I´d say Chelsea will do us but the rest are all winable. Swansea & Newcastle will not be easy mind. Not that I´m saying the other games will be just that we really have a chance if this "foxes never quit" attitude carries on til the final whistle of the season. Keep to the same formation & we have a chance, the players know what they need to do.
Best and most important win of the season so far. Most unexpected but very very welcome. Bring on West Swansea!!!!!!
I always felt we'd get something out of this match, before and during, but quite honestly I'd have taken a draw (it was another "must win" game according to RL - when you use that term all the time it starts to lose meaning) so a win is a massive bonus. Vardy and Schlupp were a real threat with their pace, something I'm amazed we didn't see more of earlier in the season, and you know Nugent will give his all. Even Ulloa got an assist on the first goal, doing what he should be doing more of - winning the fall (fairly) in the air. Albrighton, well, he likes to cross the ball, but I missed Mahrez's invention and was relieved when he finally came on, albeit playing behind the front two. Albrighton's return to the team will hopefully end the silly rumours regarding a grudge between the two (it's a brave man that picks Albrighton over Mahrez, and I for one wouldn't have been surprised if it hadn't happened, and that's without taking the rumours into account). It will be interesting to see what happens personnel and formation wise in the next match, because, after just one and a half games, I think (well, hope) we've seen the last of Schlupp at left back. As I said when we switched to four, he is not good enough defensively and, just like last week, looked very weak from the first goal we conceded (and a few situation before and after). Thankfully, Pearson recognised this, and, in a stroke of genius, actually made us more of threat by taking off an attacking fullback and bringing on centre back! It allowed Schlupp to concentrate on what he's good at (attacking) and even allowed Vardy to move up front in a 3-4-3 formation. It would be very daring to start with this in future games, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility. Leicester completely dominated the second half and, quite frankly, anything other than a Leicester win, even on the 79th minute when we were 2-1 down, would have been an injustice. Thankfully, we got what we deserved for once. So the race for survival is back on. Quite honestly, I wouldn't swap places with Hull right now, as their fixture list is horrible, whereas I'd be amazed if we didn't get another win or two. Note of interest - Hull only picked up one point after this stage last season. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened again. Burnley and, to a lesser extend, QPR are the teams to watch now. Our games against those two are massive for the immediate future of our football club. Our fate is in our own hands for the first time in months, so let's get behind the manager and the lads and do this! I've been following Leicester for over twenty years, but I think if we survive this season, it will be the highlight of my time as a fan. Winning cups is fine and dandy but that doesn't really affect the long or short term future of your club (qualifying for Europe aside). Surviving this season will not only feel great when it happens, but will have long lasting benefits and, after looking for so long like we were dead and buried, it will be long remembered. Let's make it happen!!!
