Ruiz missed a chance which a £10 mil player should have put away, yes he pulls off the odd cracking pass but he gives the ball away far too often and overall his contribution is poor. I really can't see why Jol doesn't bench him.
I was referred to this excellent analysis of the game from Saturday. Brings up some really interesting points particularly with Ruiz. http://www.vivaelfulham.co.uk/articles/talking-tactics-fulham-1-west-brom-1-7-295.html
Here is a link to Fulham TV for video highlights of the game (unfortunately all of the penalty incidents have been edited out):
Excellent analysis indeed. Thanks for posting this. I agree entirely that Ruiz's best position is behind the striker and that Kasami ought to be able to adapt to playing alongside Parker in a deeper role. But the problem with the line-up that the author suggests is that he ignores the Berbatov/Bent/Ruiz dilemma. The best striker to stretch the defence and create the space for the creatives to work in is Bent. The best player to pick passes for the forward runner is (perhaps) Ruiz. Does that mean we bench Berbatov when everyone is fit? I can't see it happening. That's the single biggest reason why Ruiz is likely to go on getting games on the right hand side. I'm really not sure that there's space in the starting eleven for all three of them.
With all this positivity, maybe we should encourage MJ to join our little group in Pub-Not-606. So he does not get so frustrated with the negative comments he has reacted to. C O Y W
Can you imagine Big Mart and roscafre getting into a virtual pub-fight? There'd be digital glasses flying everywhere!
Very sad if Mj as reported, said he would resort to fisty cufs over criticisms, something we all receive at times, and i doubt if any of those that do get a 3 million + salary per year. There is a way he can turn boos to cheers.
The missing ingredient is "FUN". There's none at the moment and to be honest hasn't been for the best part of 2013. Remember the first couple of month's last season (after we got over the upset of losing Dembele)? We by no means won all our games and there was criticism about losing late goals but it was enjoyable stuff. And before anybody mentions personnel, the team that drew on Saturday was virtually the same one (Chris Baird being the obvious exception) that beat West Brom 3-0 last year. So what has changed? What has taken the fun out of our players?
