VAR shouldn't be overruling the match ref. It is there as his assistant; hence the name. If the VAR official thinks the ref might have got it wrong (which was clear to see that he had in this case) he should be telling the ref that he should take a look at the incident on the pitchside monitor. If the ref still thinks he got it right then fine, I've no problem with that. But he has to at least review it himself.
