Jamie Vardy is suspended and Nathan Dyer cant play against his parent club but apart from that we have no other worries. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Albrighton Drinkwater Kante Schlupp Mahrez Ulloa Subs- Schwarzer, Wasilewski, Amartey, Gray, King, Inler, Okazaki
Mahrez would get 2 players on him at every time he touches the ball - at least on the wing he pulls players out of position and gives space in the middle. I would have: Schmeichel Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Albrighton Drinkwater Kante Mahrez Ulloa Okazaki If we play crosses then Williams and Fernandez will just gobble them up - have Ulloa deeper to pull them out of position because they don't have a very tall team and Okazaki run around in the space. Can move Mahrez in the middle when Okazaki has run himself out.
I wouldnt limit Mahrez to 1 position. In that role let him go where he wants during the game. We have the cover in midfield and he is good enough to deserve a free role
I agree but wouldn't start him that role though as he will be getting a few "welcome to the game" tackles earlier on - when there CBs are on yellows for knocking Okazaki around? That is the right time.
I reckon you'll be fine without Vardy. I think you'll be able to score a goal or two, you've come across as quite clinical finishers this season regardless of who has scored. Think it would be a bigger problem at this stage of the season where you haven't been as creative in the last 5 or so games if one of your central defenders was suspended.
... dare i say it ... we have to use Mahrez like Barca use Messi now ... he hasn't been playing badly but he has to some extent been nullified by numbers inmmediately on him when he receives the ball wide right ... far more difficult to do when he is free to roam ... and the lad has shown that he can finish ...
Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Drinkwater Kante Mahrez Okazaki Schlupp Ulloa Harsh on Albrighton but I think we need to make up for Vardy's pace. The three behind Ulloa to both work their arses off and interchange positions.
not quite ... Suarez plays the closest to a centre forward that Barca have with Messi dropping slightly deeper and being the main link up with Iniesta and Rakotic ... I'd be tempted to play Albrighton wide right and Schlupp/Gray (probably Schlupp) to provide crosses for Leo ... Shinji can come on once we are 3 up and chase everything ... Mahrez gets a free role just in behind Leo ...
Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Gray Drinkwater Kante Albrighton Mahrez Okazaki I think we need someone with a bit more flair than Schlupp, so have gone with Gray, who will also provide a bit more defensive work than Mahrez, though felt Mahrez had a good all round game at WHU. Mahrez sweeping in a free role will pull their defence around alot more imo, rather than just having the LB and DM pounce on him as soon as he gets the ball. Don't think changing the formation is a good idea either. I guess its going to be hard for Swans to prepare when not even Leicester fans can decide what the formation/lineup will be
In the last 7 games they've won 4 drawn 1 lost 2, it's not bad and they're a lot better than they were earlier in the season, the last result is not an indication of their overall form.. I think you'll win though.
Is going to be more difficult then last time - they have a new manager with new ideas so they won't sit deep and allow Mahrez to do his thing. I hope that they are still stupid enough to but I doubt it.
Reckon we're going to have to try and keep the ball a bit more without Vardy so I would bring Ulloa in for him and have King in for Okasaki.
Really sorry guys but ...... WE'RE GOING TO KICK YOU'RE ARSE..... 3-1 ...how you like them apples Good luck after this painful loss though !
No .... IMHO ... Leo did really well last season but we seem to be forgetting that ... why would we play a midfield player in place of a forward? ... Okazaki on his own will find it very difficult against the Swans defence ... we need to go after Swansea like we did last season ... pace and power and getting crosses into the right place for the big man ...
