Ive always trusted Nigel has had his reasons for not playing Albrighton. Up to now he is yet to show any sort of form to warrant a place. Yes he has deserve more of a chance though

But since he got his chance against West Ham he has took it so far

His crosses are different class to anything any other player can deliver. How could he show "any sort of form" if he wasn't being selected.
I think he has been influential in the turnaround of our performances. I just hope he is not dropped if he has one bad game!
Pearson has never explained why Albrighton wasn't being picked.

he doesnt need to... Mahrez's performances all season in the same position has explained that

Yeah right, the team went four months winning nothing. Mahrez was also away on international duty for a while and certainly wasn't at his best when he returned. The second half on Saturday proved that they both can play in the same team. They are both able to play in more than one position.

Isnt it when Mahrez went away that Albrighton started playing though? Mahrez is our best player, hence why teams are rumoured to want him rather than albrighton who plays in the same position.

No. Albrighton came on for Mahrez for the second half vs West Ham and kept his place for West Brom & Swansea. He didn't feature at all while Mahrez was away. On top form I wouldn't dispute that Mahrez is one of our best players, as I said I think they both should play. They both bring valuable attributes to the team - see last 3 performances/results.

Also the reason why Knockaert gets nowhere near the first team. Schlupp has had an excellent season too IMO.

Mahrez is the best winger at the club. He is out of form at the minute but he showed on saturday he is always dangerous when he gets the ball. Havent seen a City player glide past players like him in my lifetime

Albrighton hasnt played much the reason because he hasnt been good enough. His form at the minute is very good but Pearson hasnt picked him for a reason. We dont see his training performances so we have to trust the managers judgement

How can you know he isn't good enough if he hasn't played? I think he's proved that he's more than good enough in the last 2 and a half games. I reiterate that both Albrighton and Mahrez should both be in the team.

Who would you drop for Mahrez? I suggested before Saturday's match a team with Mahrez behind the front two of Nugent and Vardy, instead of Ulloa spearheading the attack, but then Ulloa went and scored in 15 minutes!

My opinion is that Mahrez is out of form at the minute and needs to earn his place back (impressing through substitution performances). Who he replaces when he returns depends on the form of others. There are many formation options at the moment. Which is nice.

I would now keep him as an impact sub as that system works very well with alrighton as a wing back, but mahrez has been better than him all season, a change in shape and a loss of form has now meant he has been dropped to the bench, but rightly so has been 1st choice nearly all season.

Albrighton and Schlupp as wing backs worked really well on Saturday ... arguably better than any other pairing has worked all season ...

Nuge has been playing well lately but his unfortunate strain probably worked in our favour - if that ball had dropped to Nuge rather than Leo it may not have nestled beautifully in the bottom corner ... more likely in the second tier! - but that is life and luck - we are currently having some at last - strikers thrive on goals and I wouldn't be surprised if that one prompts a 'brace' from Leo shortly ...

Personally I feel we really need another win on Saturday (rather than just a point) ... that might enable us to play with 'freedom' (relatively) for the rest of the season ...

I'd go one further and say that 2 wins in the 3 "6 pointers" we have will be enough, though saying that, i'd hate to have to rely on victory on the final day! :emoticon-0107-sweat

We should be aiming for 7 points from Burnley, Newcastle and Sunderland

If we get that then the QPR match might be meaningless. We can just win the send them down

I have a strange feeling that that QPR match, which has looked massive all season, may well end up being a dead rubber...

I just hope that means we'll safe by then!

Thought Mahrez looked good on Saturday, might even have scored if Vardy had played a better pass. Be interesting to see what approach Pearson has to the Burnley game, his defensive instincts might kick in. I think we are best to carry on playing attacking football. I too think Mahrez is perfect for playing behind the front two.
