Caglar Soyuncu is avalible but he was injured in pre season so might not yet be upto match fitness. Matty James is the only injury who will miss out and of course Jamie Vardy is suspended. Here is what I would go with Schmeichel Ricardo Maguire Evans Chilwell Mendy Ndidi Albrighton Maddison Gray Iheanacho Subs- Ward, Morgan, Fuchs, Amartey, Silva, Diabate, Ghezzal
If they get to continue, Mendy and Ndidi could just turn out to be a smashing combination ... were a few having a bit of a dig about young Wilf before the Wolves game but he was actually instrumental in both our goals... special talent who is only going to get better IMHO
I’d be surprised to see anything different to this apart from the subs bench. Amartey covers both CB and RB so can’t see a need for Morgan there. Would swap him for an out and out striker - do we have one though!? Or just Ndukwu?
Would imagine that quite a few of the youngsters will play against Fleetwood including Ndukwu. Same again for the next Prem game with Kelechi in for JV and hopefully Shinji on the bench. On an aside, I cant believe how positive I feel about the future of our club. Ground and training complex developments. Real talent coming through the academy. What looks to be a really good summer transfer window and the owners speaking about team rebuilding and patience - think we all knew that our style of counter attacking football would not be a long term recipe.
It did win us the league tho so not too bad Think that this summer has got rid of alot of that mentality with the sale of Mahrez (forcing us to play out from the back rather than pumping it straight up to him) and the introduction of more attacking wing backs like Pereira. Think theres improvements still to be made, how we won on Saturday i don't know, but we put in a solid defensive effort, and even though Evans had to be switched to the left by end, they still kept a clean sheet.
Both Evans and Maguire have spent their whole careers as far as I’m aware on that left side of centre back. I’m never sure how much that effects things
I dont mind us changing style but dont want us to become scared of playing counter attacking. If its on then do it
Today's line up: 1Schmeichel 18Amartey 5Morgan 15Maguire 3Chilwell 24Mendy 25Ndidi 14Ricardo Pereira 10Maddison 7Gray 8Iheanacho Substitutes 6Evans 11Albrighton 12Ward 20Okazaki 23Adrien Silva 28Fuchs 31Ghezzal
I don’t want to be too pessimistic, but I look at that line up and wonder what the point of even waking up and remembering to breath was
Wow! actually playing 3 at the back from the off today, thats exciting! Schmeichel Amartey Morgan Maguire Pereira Mendy Ndidi Chilwell Gray Maddison Iheanacho I seriously hope this works today tbh, as i feel its the formation that works best with what we have.
Great result and the best way to win it. Only negative for me is that the changes Puel made seemed to be playing for the draw against 10 men! Fortunately the players, particularly Harry, had other ideas. I like Puel and what he’s trying to do but he needs to be more positive
Still find Puel’s decisions very questionable Playing Amartey at right back, Ricardo on the wing and dropping Albrighton? And then subbing off our only striker Evans didnt cover himself in glory last week so bringing Wes back in was at least understandable
Schmeichel- 3 points at the death. Love it. Nice one slab head @HarryMaguire93 #LCFC Vardy- That’s my slab head @HarryMaguire93
Played some neat stuff but other than the two goals hardly looked threatening. Still its another 3 points. Like most unconvinced by Armartey but pleasantly surprised with Mendy. Although Grey scored if he wants to play for England he needs to be having a much bigger influence in games. Chilwell again impressive and now his defence work is getting better he looks a seriously good player.
