Nope. I could try and say Jol was being supportive of his "star" player after said "star" took a hammering on Sky, MOTD and elsewhere. The fact that Jol called his "star" a "spare" makes it tempting but nope, I can't.

Just as puzzling is that Jol did also go public a couple of weeks ago saying that Bryan needed to buck up his ideas yet not only continues to play him but plays him out of position. And played him against Palace and Southampton when he wasn't 'fully fit'. Unlike Dejagah, a natural winger, who is fit - and has always been.

I start to believe that the sooner we get rid of Jol the better will be. His excuses are running low and any manager will get some time to try new formations and find a style of play. The next international break is around the corner. The challenge is that we have 2 divas up front and no back up for them...

Of course we do. His name is Rodallegabomb. He had half the touches Bent had in his 15 minute cameo vs Southampton than Bent did in 75 minutes. Hugo is a bit rubbish, but can he do any worse than our current front two? At least he runs at players!
