Lol at a DQPR fan trying to wind us up over a loss to a League Two side, only to do it themselves the very next night What was that Grifter mate, something about not scoring any goals, and losing being a bad habit that's difficult to get out of? I suppose you would know. Played: 3 Won: 0 Drawn: 0 Lost: 3 Scored: 0 Conceded: 6 Ouch!
Burton are two positions higher than Shrewsbury, & we were away from home
You´re such a silly boy Grifter. We´ve had some very bad WUM´s/idiots come on our board... you´re in the top 3 that´s for sure.
After 4 games grifter, there'll be like a poit or two different. If you want to do this you can sy Shrewabury are better as they were in league 1 last season and Burton league 2, same logic as yours. Fact is neither of our teams should be bothered about this cup when premier league survival is key and I'm sure had we had player fit or Nige had wanted to go through we'd have done so but he said himself he isn't upset. You dramas on te other hand seem very devastated...
Interesting as an outsider to read some of your Premier League banter. It does strike me that some of you (understandably enough) do not know much about League 2 sides and that leads to you (and more importantly your players) underestimating them. For example at Shrewsbury we have one player (Lawrence who was suspended on Tuesday) with Premier League experience and a couple of others with extensive Championship experience while the vast majority have extensive experience in League 1. Over the last few years we have often had promising young players on loan from Premier League and Championship clubs and many of these have not been able to make any impact in League 1 and League 2. The days of kick and rush in the lower leagues have gone - most teams now try to pass it properly and lower league sides are full of hardened match-fit experienced pros. It is therefore probably not too surprising that when Premier League clubs put out weakened teams who have not played together in a match situation against League 2 sides who are used to playing together and winning there are a few 'upsets'
I must admit that I wasn't confident when we put our side out. I knew that Wesolowski should really be playing top end League 1 or low end Championship football still and he tore the two youngsters (who would probably go on loan to League two clubs) to shreds. I think we had 4 players older than 22. Was always going to be tough.
I come in peace as it made me laugh. I know most will have seen these Hitler clippits before, but it refers to his precious Leicester amongst others in the League cup.
I'm sorry congrats on your win but really its not a big deal at all that you beat us. We don't care in the slightest
A team will always (well, usually) beat 11 individual players. I'd never hear of two of the players we fielded, another made his professional start, some made their debut for us, others we're rusty and not 100% after injuries. Without knowing too much about your team and if you rested players, I'd guess that they had played together a lot more. Hence it was not a totally surprising result. We did not underestimated you; nor would we any lower league side (we're not that long out of League One ourselves), it's just the league cup was deemed (this season) to be low priority, especially with the midfield injury crisis.
