Had most of the possession. In charge of the game yet losing 1-0. Good possession in midfield but nothing really up top - no runners from midfield.
Right. The goals scorer and goal maker are both off injured. The Captain has been sent off and we've now brought Bent on for David so surely we must be able to take advantage of this.
NO GOALS What do you expect with Roders<and Bent playing, both should be charged under the trade discriptions act posing as footballers let alone C/Fowards.
Senderos hits the bar. At least there he can't give away a goal. And at least he's got more chance of scoring us a goal than Barren Bent. 24 shots, but only 4 on target.
Ros so true. As a strikers surely you should be playing on the shoulders of the defenders, not only do you give yourselves a chance of getting in behind but you stretch the defence and create space for the midfielders. Bent and rodders were awful, no idea of how to play their roles. On the plus side, I thought passley looked good and Plumain and tankovic showed exciting skills. Duff looked very professional as did Kara. Kasami worked hard. Other than that the other senior players were simply dreadful as was the referee.
Yeah, we weren't great. Plenty of the ball in front of United but no threat. Okay Rodders scored but he was generally poor. Bent very poor, Taarabt absolutely dire. On the upside the youngsters played okay. Showed a bit of inexperience obviously but plumain and the Tank were good. Passley nice and steady. Wouldn't put him up against a premiership striker yet but shows real promise.
Well made a nice change to actually watch Fulham on TV rather than being there. Not the best performance and I'm thankful we are still in it - I had a sneeking feeling Sheffield Utd would grab one on the break. We live dangerously ! The game was played in dreadful conditions but it did give our fringe players a taste of first team football. Not sure any of them made the most of it. I suppose for a neutral it was an entertaining and good game but I found it hard to watch. Quite impressed with their Jamie Murphy though.
Agree with all of this Fulhaman. Would add that Kasami was also poor - back to his days when playing for the U21s; wanting the ball but doing nothing with it. Although in fairness he did make this chance cleverly but the result says it all about Bent:
Jeepers C58, that was an atrocious miss by Bent! I ended up listening to Gentleman Jim's commentary, it sounded like a mixed performance. I'll catch the highlights tonight and will defo go to the replay.
Atrocious is hardly the word. 3 yards out and still misses. He only had to knock it back in the direction it came from and it would have gone in. Okay, it wouldn't have counted, but he didn't know that at the time and can hardly blame the decision as a contributing factor. Just shocking from a former International. And to think when he came to us there was talk in the press about him trying to sneak a place into the England Squad - laughable looking back.
The worrying fact is that incompent Jol sang the praises of this sluggish 50k per week has been when he aquired him.
It's not even coming at him that quickly, could understand if he had been closer to the deflection but there is no excuse for that miss.
Of course he did, a manager should always sing the praises of a new signing. Bent was a bad signing, but at least he's only on loan and not on a three year deal.
The are some positives... Was pleased to see the youngsters commanding the midfield. On the positives I put the following: 1. Senderos is written off from first team 2. Rene showed our poor squad and need to throw money in. 3. Another game at home for the youngsters. Possibly two if we go through. The ref could have given a penalty and red card in the first half. The game would have been different. Generally poor performance.
Thought I heard on ITV it would be a week Wednesday, but the Club have confirmed Tuesday 4th February kick off 8pm. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/january/26/replay-details
