A chink of light there, well done Petric for getting one back. If we get another one back it'll be jammier than the draw at Everton.
We have two very important homes games over the Christmas period, against Southampton and Swansea. If we take 6 points from those two games, then we'll be well set going into January. With Ruiz back and some midfield support being brought in, we can push on through the second half of the season.
Can't understand how the team were not up for it today. We were so poor it was unbelieveable. Well done QPR for their first win but I am disappointed it took 85 mins before we started playing.
Not here to gloat, but thanks for the points. We need every one we can get. Good luck for the rest of the season.
It sounds like it was another of those games when we're just not on our game, and for all the usual reasons. When Ruiz isn't there, we just don't have the midfield to take control and make things happen. As everyone else has said, we need some more creativity in the centre in January. It's just a shame we had to give QPR their first win.
Well, we lacked an awful lot of things today, but the most fundamental thing was a leader. More than that I have nothing else to say at this time. PS There is one thing - when will we ever learn to close players down ? PPS And another thing - why did we go there looking for a draw with only two in the midfield ? PPS Oh, and one more thing - can anybody tell me what Richardson brings to the team ?
We were absolutely fu<king useless today. QPR were by far the better side and a 2-1 loss flattered us. I think one saving grace is they didn’t score earlier. Mackie missed an absolutely sitter in the first 10 mins. Had they scored that it would have been a far worse result for us. While watching today’s game if you were asked which team hasn’t won this season and were bottom of the league you certainly wouldn’t have said QPR. They play better than us and disserved the win, I haven’t got a problem with that. The thing that really grates with me is that none of our players with the exception off Duff and Petric (when he came on) showed any sort of determination or passion. The midfield was shocking and showed zero creativity. The game plan seemed to be pass it to Berbatov and hope he could work some magic. Berbatov showed some good touches but didn’t really have any chances due to the piss poor/nonexistent service he had. I thought Rodallega may have turned a corner after his goal against Newcastle but he was as useless as he usually is, we might as well play with Billy the Badger up front. He we be equally as useless but I like to think he would show some passion and effort. Even when we pulled it back to 2-1 QPR looked more determined to finish us off than we did to equalise. We desperately need a leader in midfield as without one today we looked gutless and passionless. At the end of the game a number of players were sitting on the pitch looking defected. I’m not sure why because for the 90 minutes it looked as though they didn’t care.
I feared that we would give them the first win. Mark Maunders on Twitter: "This time in May, when we've won the FA Cup we'll look back at today with a shrug and just mutter.. 'Fulhamish'.." And the consequence... Steve Sidwell got his 5th yellow! Still, points available in the next 2 matches. C O Y W
You are absolutely right TMHAF - I just can't understand that performance. The one thing you normally can say about Fulham is that they give it near 100% - but today it was so slow, backwards and without any direction. (Hughes/Boxing day and all that) It is strange after last season to say but today was a day we really missed Ruiz and the creativity of Diarra (or Murphy per last year) The only change from the game on Monday was Richardson for Kaca - now that is a strange decision. I don't like to say it but I'm afraid Richardson aint up to it. Next Saturday is away to Liverpool and we are in even more problems with Sidwell presumably now suspended after his yellow card today and Reither possibly injured with a back issue. I'm already writing that game off. I'm still 100% behind Jol, no knee jerking from me, but the team needs to have a hard look at itself on that performance - what on earth went wrong.
While I don't think today's performance is a good representation of our team as it is now (far from it), I can't disagree with what anyone says. Pretty gutless performance today, but our biggest problem was that we just kept giving the ball away. For all the running around and workhorsery (yep, that's a word now) from players like Baird, Sidwell, Richardson etc, it's sod all good if we just give the ball back to the opposition. I've got a feeling Jol will give the players a rocket in training this week, so you've got to think that things can only get better now. I'm hoping Jol can wave his magic wand and get us that player we need in the middle in January, but I won't put my house on it. Not for Jol's endeavour and the club's dealings, because the market in January is generally pants! In all, I don't think the lack of creativity was our problem today - it was the complete inability to keep possession. Let's hope Diarra's back to his old self next week. COYW

Hate to say but the away form looks exactly the same as previous years...we lack invention away from home plus this playing through berbatov lark is so predictable.
Trying not to be too negative regarding our recent form, but looking at our past few away games, it's difficult to argue with you CC. The first few away games/performances gave me real hope that we would finally get rid of the 'away game' monkey that's hounded us for a few seasons now, but we have looked toothless for most of the season. I think in some ways, the signing of Berbatov has hampered us. I realise that saying a world class striker up front for you hinders you sounds ridiculous, but the players are all too eager to play everything through him, so essentially the opposition only need to mark one player, whereas before, the opposition didn't know who to mark. Dempsey/Dembele/Duff/Murphy all had attacking impetus last season and weren't afraid to take the ball forward, whereas now we are playing so predictably, playing everything through Berbatov. We desperately need more attacking quality in January, to lift the pressure from Berbatov's shoulders.
