Yeah, all of a sudden we start to look very ‘Southampron’. I swear we say this every year, but this summer really is crucial.

I thought Silva was excellent yesterday.

Lot of doom and gloom on here after one defeat albeit against a team that we should have beaten easily at home. No question we have been through a golden era with Vardy and Mahrez being at the centre of this. Its almost a given Mahrez will be off and realistically Vardy may only have one more season in him. The manner of the defeat has not helped but I think Puel is actually doing OK. We have yet to see his influence in the transfer market and in a relatively short space of time has changed the way we play with the same players who were used to a counter attacking style. Of the old guard Simpson and our amazing captain Morgan will no doubt be replaced for next season. We have Mendy to come back if required and Ndidi, Silva and Iborra so have a fantastic midfield. Its only up front where we need to improve. looks like an eighth place finish with a couple of unlucky cup exits which while we had the potential for better is actually OK. Some highlights still to come this season but I for one am looking forward to next season already.

I missed the one from 2 seasons ago last season...

Is a chance for Chowdry and Barnes to show what they are made of.

Personally, I quite like Puel. I feel like we are in calm, sensible hands.

Just think, when he took over we were AWFUL. I’d be very interested to see the mini-league of when he took over.

Also bare in mind that apart from Burnley and Man City, everyone thinks they have had a poor season this year and ours has been far better than most of those

Stupid decision to loan eveyone out now has come back to bite

One of Slimani or Ulloa should have gone not both and King going over James is stupid

King is good for a goal and can be relied on. James simply cant

Hardly think its panic stations just yet!

Not sure why Morgan is getting all the flack, he lost his man and Schmeichel came out and didn't claim it, im yet to see anyone say we should be dropping Schmeichel. If you go by the history, Schmeichels probably had more errors.

Im not saying hes undroppable and we should be looking for replacements in most positions, but we i hardly think we should be jumping down his throat when he makes 1 mistake.

You'd be in 8th place - 2 points behind Burnley and 1 point ahead of Everton

Interestingly, in the 2018 table (games from Jan 1st) you'd also be in 8th place - behind Arsenal on goal difference and ahead of Swansea and West Ham on goal difference

From an outsider's point of view it looks like you have been one of the most consistent teams all season.

Also worth noting that in 2018 only the current top 4 have taken more points than us (Newcastle). In that time we've only lost to Man City and Liverpool (both away), so Saturday's result might not be as bad as you first thought.
