Wilfred Ndidi is suspended and Matty James injured. Daniel Amartey could return and Kelechi Iheanacho will be ok despite breaking his hand. So here is what I would go with

Maybe this is the chance Silva has needed after not being great in the cups. There’s an argument to play Amartey instead of him there but can’t see it myself

 

As obviously just as Islam Slimani finally made his debut for Newcastle last week. He has to sit out of this weeks game

 

Not sure who is going to win the ball for us in the middle of the park. Silva and Iborra play a similar game and whilst I think we will be OK for this one the game against Burnley now looks a whole lot tougher without Ndidi.

Just seen that ball again from Silva to Mahrez when he went down (which was a dive not a pen). What a ball that was, defence splitting which we need more of as Albrighton’s crosses into the box are lost on us without having the big lads on the end of them so we need more like that

 

And I have to say that seeing the decisions again on MOTD I actually agreed with Murphy not Lampard which is unheard of! I can’t see contact worthy of going down like he did on Mahrez but disagree with Lampard as well that Maguire should have been sent off. How many seconds was Gayle literally clinging to him pulling him back, ref should have blown up for a free kick to us before it got to that. Cynical from Gayle and reacting like a twat after

And Wes Morgan had to bloody cheek to try and blame him for the goal. Morgan was blowing out his arse in the last 20 mins. He cant be first choice next season. He has to be either back up or sold

Couldn’t agree more, I think he had to go, to a lower league also ran club like that one he came from. I think he’s bad for the club now and gets picked on his legacy as captain not ability and we’ll lose Drago as a result. As a club we seriously need to look forward and not back as we are going backwards a a club atm. Simpson, Albrighton and Okazaki go into the same category for me. Not necessarily sell all of them but back up

 

Problem with the Okazaki one is we have tried countless times to replace him and spent no end on money aswell. £16M on Musa, £30M on Slimani and £25M on Iheanacho and yet Shinji is the most effective in that role

 

Slim and Nacho are number 9’s so don’t partner great with Vardy or push him out the side. With the system Puel wants to play I think we need a proper midfielder type number 10 (like a Sigurrdson) rather than another out and out striker

 

Morgan’s fine - no need to ‘get him out the club’ etc - it’s just that Dragovic is clearly a better footballer than him and should be playing.

Next year will be a struggle - with it looking like Mahrez will finally he off, it is vital that we replace him. That doesn’t necessarily mean with a like-for-like winger, but it means a player anywhere on the pitch that is a match winner. Those players aren’t cheap and not many come around...

 

My concern is him being ‘unstoppable’ as captain. We either need the manager to have to balls to drop him (or Wes to accept being dropped depending on the issue) or for him to move on. Replacing him as captain is the most difficult option.
I worry when Mahrez goes, take him and Vardy out our side I really can’t see us being any better than anyone in the bottom half
