oh my daysssss if we beat man utd, and we are at home, we could even start opening up a gap. Particularly with the following games being an out-of-sorts swansea and a poor chelsea side. And then if, IF, we can get any result against man city given we were at home... lets not get ahead of ourselves though.
**** me, we are starting to post abit too much in the way of `Leicester in wonderland` some times. Lay off any wrong mushrooms & don´t go on any trips or magical mystery tours with Lucy. We´ll be seeing smoking caterpillars & talking door mouses before long.
I think after 13 games a couple of years ago we 29 points. Won the league. So why not believe just for a while we could achieve something remarkable again
Here you go Barwell... http://www.skysports.com/football/n...time-leicester-were-top-of-the-premier-league
Thanks JL - remember it well. All started so well with Birch welcoming the man u fans to the home of the league leaders. Also remember the first game of the following season when we were at home to Bolton and got a right thumping. If Birch does something similar Saturday evening I will spike his pint. Really looking forward to this game as I believe we actually have a better team than them at the moment. Just hope Fellaini doesnt play as he could cause problems for us at set pieces.
While there are some similarities, there are two major differences for me: 1) We are (albeit arguably) a better team than in 2000 And, perhaps more importantly... 2) Man Utd are a much worse team!!
Much better financial position too. I'd agree the 2000 squad is more successful, but the current squad has the ability to equal and improve on this.
Not just saying this with hindsight - that period was always a false premise waiting to be found out - where we are now is definitely the 'real deal' in terms of the quality and ability of individuals in the squad (not just the starting XI) ... can't think of any games so far this season where we have been 'fortunate' to get a result ... indeed the opposite at times ...
