I'm happy with the selection we all have grumbled and moaned the players ain't putting enough effect in and needs to play some of the youngsters. Now he's done it some people are moaning about that. This team might given us some passion.
Reserved for Manchester games it seems, Mr Friend is in charge today. please log in to view this image The only other time we’ve seen him this season was the home against Man City and you only have to read the posts in the thread for that game to remind yourself how little he did to curb their bully boy tactics that night. Mr Friend also ref’d our match at Old Trafford at the beginning of last season, when Van Persie made his debut, Rooney gashed his leg in a challenge on Hugo and we unluckily lost 3-2. Suffice to say he didn’t do us any favours that day either; 21 of the 76 decisions against us were arguably incorrect, while only 4 of the 57 against United were debatable. He is fond of the yellow card is our Kevin, dishing out 65 in his 20 matches so far this season.
I want to see the formation before commenting, honestly. We can't play 433 with that team selection. However, Tunnicliffe and Richardson could be the hard working wingers required to make 442 work, along with the creativity of Holtby. I'm not expecting anything, but if we put in a competitive performance then we could at least have something to build on. Brave to drop Hangeland and Parker, hope that doesn't backfire!
I may be in the minority on this, but the team that lost last week to Sheffield U. didn't stand a snowball's chance in hell against Man U., so why not roll the dice and try an new squad? We weren't going to win the game anyway, why not give the new people a shot? I wouldn't use last week's squad to push-start the damn bus, let alone represent wear black and white at Old Trafford.
What a ball from Holtby. The commentary on this game is so one-sided it's painful. Same for the BBC live feed.
Well, we should be two up if Richardson had a little more composure. We just have to hope that United stick to their tactic of giving Burn heading practice.
It may not be pretty but it has worked very well so far. What a ball from Holtby and a brilliant run from the ginja ninja. Gutted Richardson did not slot his chance home but to be fair to him he has put in a hell of a shift so far. Not sure we can continue to play like this for the whole of the second half but leaving 1'up top may stop their centre backs getting forward. Great effort and performance so far though.
United dominating now, as expected. Parker looks a decent sub for this situation. Just as an aside, when was the last time we had six Englishmen on the pitch for a Premier League game? Been a little while, I would think.
...and there it is. 2 goals in 2 minutes and now it's done. The players have tried hard, but they just ran out of energy. Bent has been awful though, we've had no outlet at all.
Shame, we stuck to our guns now we need to push on and try for the equaliser. Another deflected goal again.
That's true. The commentary on Sky has been horrible to listen to. If I was listening to MUTV then it'd be expected... but then I guess I expect it from Sky too.
