Next is Luton is the Carabao cup. I think there will be a few changes in this game and probably load the bench incase we need to change the game.

Gray

Perez

Subs- Jakupovic, Benkovic, Ricardo, Tielemans, Maddison, Iheanacho, Vardy

I don't think they will risk Maddison due to his late knock in the game against Spurs.

I would like to see Benkovic (if fit) given a start.

Got to be careful not to disrespect them too much.

Very professional ... 7 changes ... 4 different goalscorer ... all under 24 years of age ... there was a time when a LCFC second string would have lost that <cheers>

You mean like last year vs Newport <laugh>

I was expecting more of a fight from Luton tbh, but they made wholesale changes, more than we did. You can tell their priority is to stay in the Championship.

Best thing of last night was the 2 players who really need some confidence to kick is Gray and Iheanacho both scored

Maddison is a doubt for the weekend so Gray might come into the team at the weekend

If Maddison is out I'd expect a straight swap to Praet ...

Burton away whilst Man Utd face Chelsea and Liverpool Arsenal. Still on for our annual home to Man City in the quarters though as they have an easy game at home to Southampton. Definitely two league 1/2 sides to be in the quarters as well with Crawley v Colchester and Oxford v Sunderland.
We shouldn’t under estimate Burton though

Burton got to the semi last year

I remember when we played them a few years ago at the King Power. They stuffed us 4-2

Great opportunity to progress though

I don’t think we’d have gone to a team like Luton and taken it seriously, winning convincingly though. I think Nigel Clough is still their manager and he’s a great cup manager, took Sheffield United to both an FA cup and league cup semi when they were in league 1
