Last season Kante and Drinkwater covered Simpson alot

Fuchs never had a problem as Albrighton always got back to help out

That is what I am talking about. Nobody on here are having a go at Fuchs, because he rarely got caught out because his wide man in front of him got back to help out. It is not the central midfielders job to cover at right back. If Albrighton played right midfield, we would not be having this conversation. FACT.

It was the CMs role last season - look at my signature to see how well that worked...

Simpson needs some competition but since he came into the team and he has only done wrong once and that was at Arsenal

Fair point. I also think, if the ref that day had a pair of balls, he wouldn't have shown 2 yellow cards for the 2 "non life threatening" infringements :)

If that's your logic, then Simpson did mighty fine too ;)
Winning the Premier League is mighty fine I think.

However as Proud Fox has written, he can't rest on his laurels and needs competition - Hernandez isn't it imho.

... he has looked a bit shakey so far this season in all honesty ... completely lost his man for the first Barca goal ... could have been sent off at Wembley and at Hull (as could Fuchs tbf) and his limitations were exposed at Hull when he got into some good positions in the second half (credit for that) but then woefully wasted possession with completely aimless over hit crosses ... he does need competition to keep him on his toes- agree.
