Next is relegated Huddersfield. Harry Maguire returns from suspension. Daniel Amartey is still injured and Marc Albrighton is still a few weeks off returning. So here is what I would go with

    Schmeichel

    Ricardo
    Morgan
    Evans
    Chilwell

    Ndidi
    Tielemans

    Gray
    Maddison
    Barnes

    Vardy

Subs- Ward, Maguire, Fuchs, Choudhury, Mendy, Ghezzal, Iheanacho

Hard to think we have an England defender on the bench and a £20M defender not in the squad

And a £12mill or whatever out on loan....I was saying Wes is past it and yes he shouldn’t step in the way of young lads coming through but he’s earning his place atm

Agreed Wes keeps it. Between Maguire and Evans. Personally I think you stick with Evans after a clean sheet

Agreed. I much prefer this, playing a regular, strong team instead of Puel's bingo/ out of the hat team selection.

Yeah wouldn't change it, not exactly the game where you need your best side on paper.

I think Rodgers will stick with the same side - no need to fix what isn't broken against the worst attack in the Premier League.

Wonder if it might be worth not even having Maguire on the bench so Soyunku can have a run out? - has barely played this season.

I don’t get that view point that I’ve seen elsewhere. People saying avoid qualifying for Europe to concentrate on next season to try and qualify for Europe? Strange logic imo anyway. Most likely in the initial rounds it’d be very small, obscure sides so you can play a side accordingly and build up as the fixtures get tougher just like a regular pre-season. If we qualify, I’d see it as basically a more competitive pre-season. If we get to the group then take it from there

Bad results for us last night, nothing but a win will do on Saturday. Wolves and Watford still have to play each other in the league as well as the cup so they’ll be points dropped if we do our bit

    Looking at our fixtures

    Huddersfield A is must win
    Newcastle H is must win
West Ham A is must not lose

Arsenal and Chelsea at home we probably need 3/4 points from

Man City away last season aside we have always done well there. But they can lift the trophy that day so will be tough

BREAKING: Marc Albrighton has returned to full training with the squad.

Rodgers: "We hope to have him fit in the next two weeks, he's not available for the weekend. He’s done great to get back in, but he needs to work on his multi-directional movement and fitness with the ball.
