Wood hattrick is excellent news. Hopefully he gets some confidence from that and starts banging them in left, right and centre!
Massive selection headache for Nigel at the weekend Dyer came on and change the game at the weekend and was superb tonight and got a goal Knockaert got a goal tonight Wood was **** on Saturday but banged in a hat trick tonight Vardy was man of the match at the weekend Nugent played well at the weekend scoring 1 and setting another up Who do you drop? For me I would bench Wood and go 442 from the start
I'd bench Nugent, thought he was pretty average on Saturday and I think you have to be very harsh to drop someone who just got a hat trick, regardless of the opposition.
He'll probably play three up front again. Dyer and Knocky to come on early in the second half for whichever striker and midfielder is under-performing. Who'd have thought a month ago that out of Vardy, Wood and Nugent that most of us would pick Vardy in first?
You are right, the hat-trick may well galvanise Wood - but as to a selection headache - we need to start better in games whoever is selected - we also shouldn't read too much into last night's game, in Carlisle's two home league fixtures this season they have lost 1-5 to Leyton Orient and 0-4 Coventry! - still,, it's great to be into the next round and a nice home tie against Man United, City or Chelsea would help the ban balance no end!
I don't think any of those teams have a one-man band to the standard of Lee Jobber. OLM voted him Fan of the Year.
Our 3 strikers between them have scored 5 goals in 2 games, Wood with a hat-trick against an admittedly poor side. You'd imagine that Pearson would stick with the winning side against Birmingham and play all 3, but they arguably don't play that well together and a change in formation allows Knockaert and Dyer to give the 2 some service. They obviously both stake a claim having scored as well. Surprising selection headache for Nigel.
People say Wood's goals was against a poor side. But we not questioning if he can score goals, he proved last season where he scored 21 goals he can score goals Its confidence thats the problem with Wood and regardless of the competition or the opponents a hat trick is bound to boost his confidence no end. While I personally would leave him on the bench still for Saturday, I think all of us see him and Nugent playing up front together as a 2 for the majority of the season with Vardy being used as an impact sub
I'd disagree (at least currently) - I think Vardy is the first forward on the teamsheet right now ...
At this minute he is but over 46 games of the strikers which 2 strikers do you see starting the most? Wood and Nugent
Other then 5 games does Jamie Vardy have any form in 2013? Wood has 14 goals for Leicester and Nugent has roughly 7 or 8. Vardy has 2
