Delap - Shock!
Walters - FFS give the guy a break!
I personally would have rested Shawx aswell!
Probably would have rested Crouch aswell and given KJ a run.
Lets hope we at least bet the result but we haven't started great!!
- agreed, a result is a result, no matter how we get it and that's how far I have come, cos I never thought that - oh sod it - fingers crossed for a home draw - oops what am I saying.I thought the team selection, was perfectly justified, given the calibre of team we were playing LEAGUE ****ING 2.
Thoroughly professional performance again, especially after going down to 10 men.
After this performance, i will say well done boys.
Now go do Valencia 2-1 & go through on away goals.
In TP we trust.
he was way too slow but still not a red card imo.Excuse the French but..
**** selections.. WHY not Fuller and Jerome or Jones for Crouch and Jerome 2nd half?
Pulis will whinge about player's being tired but WHY didn't your rest Walters and Crouch Tony?
ONE good thing Delap will NOT be anywhere near the first team for the next 3 League games,he was way too slow but still not a red card imo.
I hope the Crawley manager is happy now.. Championship player's?? maybe but, three or four efforts on goal TWO nil we'll move on now.
It's a good result and let's hope for a home draw v Lesster Nicky just to shut cov fox up finally.

Seroius Huthy?
You thought that playing Delap, Whelan, Crouch, Walters & Shawx in a game (that as you suggested we should have been able to walk with our reserve team) who will play away on Thursday and then at home on Sunday was a sensible team selection?
I agree that overall it was a proffessional job done well in that we got the result and we can move on! Less than 50% possession was expected away from home (for us) and down to 10 men (not that I think it would have made any difference if Delap had stayed on), but only 2 shots on target (1 a penalty) to their 8 shows how little we create against even the basic of opposition and they completed over double the amount of passes we did!
Excuse the French but..

Sorry potts & Waddo(**** selections ??????), he picked a team too do a job, that team did the job, **** selections he was resting players with a view on upcoming fixtures.
How you can complain about **** selections when we progress through to last 8, ****ing astonishes me!!!!!!!!
I did not suggest any future matches, if you read correctly, i said that TODAYS MATCH was a perfectly adequate team too progress & we did.
But now we are ****ed .........Liverpool away < sad sorrow face needed a home draw >
Just got back from Crawley. It was a professional performance having only had 10 men for the majority of the game. Jones (the Ref) got every single decision wrong - not a sending off, not a penalty and Collins handled the ball at the end - he should be sent to join Attwell, because he is one totally useless ref.
I thought the defense played OK, including Collins who was often left without any midfield cover once Rory had been dismissed. The midfield was its usual inept self - ran around a lot, but could not trap the ball or pass it even remotely close to a Stoke Forward. Jerome & Crouch also played well, although Jerome did miss a sitter first half.
Jon ran his socks off (again), but this has undoubtedly taken a yard or two off his pace, because with the ball at his feet, he is like a man running through treacle.
Clearly Woodgate (since his interview about being asked to play at RB) has fallen out of favour with the Welsh Wizard, so he joins a list that stands at Pennant, Palacios (he cant play two games in four days, but a 36 year old slow moving guy can?)Etheington, and earlier in the season Huth.
Given that we have not yet scored at Liverpool in 4 attempts, this is not the best draw, but it was at this stage last year TP had an epiphany that lasted for about 6 weeks. We can just hope that it happens again, although a midfield that features Whitehead, Whelan, Diao, Delap, is probably the way that the mighty TP will approach that game - and I seriously think he'll play Salif against Swansea & Norwich!
