Agree with you CP. But squad is lot better than 5th place this season. Tony doesnt deserve another chance. Bring someone young and new. Give no more than 2 year contract.
If we want to be back in the top 4 on a regular basis we need. 1. Director of Football 2. Integration of more juniors to full squad. 3. Top Class Manager 4. Board with proper credentials to do the job. 5. 3 to 5 year planning flexible enough to work on the basis of player availability at a given time. We don't have a DoF. Managers are unwilling to use youth due to pressure from Board for instant success. Conte is a top Class manager operating in a substandard and toxic environment. Not many left to chose from who want to work with our Board. Board have little to no football savvy, no plans, no patience. A lot needs to change before any Manager can achieve continued success, not the one step forward ,one step back success ratio we have.
I agree with you CP, except on the DoF issue. I have yet to see an English club have a DoF and be successful. Having a DoF essentially emasculates the manager and rules out probably 75% of the best managers in the world from even considering Chelsea as an option.
