Agree that Huddlestone can't play attacking mid, more chance of a 4-3-2-1 than a 4-2-3-1.

Maybe Huddlestone is the striker and the team objective is to get him a goal so he can cut his hair.

    Bruce

    Elmo Thudd Meyler Boyd

    Sagbo

Maybe? It's a "****ed if I know we're on the bones of our arse" sort of team.

Then again, any team are hard to break down when parking the bus, so let's hope for 0-0.

Strategic move by Bruce. Does not want to face a fine for fielding a weakend team, hence the players dropping like flies all week long. Trust we will see some rapid recoveries by next Saturday when we have a better chance of picking up points.

Of the players that have come in to the starting XI all but 2 played a crucial role in our promotion season(the others being Harper and Sagbo), maybe we should say fair enough that they get their chance rather than writing them off before the games even kicked-off. Sure it wont be easy but away at a top 5/6 side never is. I'm happy that the lads who got us up have a chance to prove themselves and I hope they take it.

Take Huddlestone out of that team and you would expect it to get nailed at home by Yeovil.

And we go and line up like that at WHL <laugh>

    Harper
    Rosey McShane Davies Figueroa
    Meyler Thudd Quinn
    Elmo Sagbo Boyd

Looks a far better use of the players. Maybe Sagbo wide right and Proschwitz central (or Gedo if he's fit). That line up is dog ****.

What is Bruce doing in training to half at least 50% of the clubs playing staff injured at any one time? We've been locked in a permanent injury crisis since August 2012, it can't just be bad luck and coincidence, I've never heard of injury problems like we've had under Steve Bruce.

That would imply Bruce is going to concentrate on the cup, which would be madness.

I think if players were available, they'd be playing.

Didnt Brucie have an injury crisis at Sunderland ?

at least we can only drop 2 positions if we lose today
A GD swing to Newcastle and any result at Swansea

Would you? I know you're probably joking but I don't see how a group of players can get us promoted to the Premier League and as soon as we bring in a few better players suddenly we right them off as no-hopers, seriously.

    Harper - Vastly experienced goalkeeper.
Rosenior, McShane, Bruce, Elmo, Meyler and Boyd - All played crucial roles in meaning that we're away at Tottenham not Barnsley.
Davies and Fig - Both looked very capable so far.
Sagbo - Scored in his last game.

Huddlestone or no Huddlestone I don't see how we can be so critical of this line-up before they've kicked off. I'm not saying we're gonna win but even baring any injuries we weren't expected to win, surely these lads have earned a crack at the Premier League?

He's talking about saving the players for the game next saturday, not wednesday.
