The football in the Olympics is about the only thing I'm interested in. Hope it helps Caulker Sandro and Rose progress as players, look forward to watching all 3 of them. Also look forward to watching Brazil in general, lovely team to watch.
Really? More than the men's 100m final or some of the swimming finals? IMO it is so mundane and boring. Our team was so sh*t last night compared to Brazils. I mean Danny rose, spurs allegiance aside, is an average premiership player at best and there are worse players than him in the squad. As I said earlier sort from the spurs players I really couldn't care less about this team. Stuart Pearce is an appalling manager as well. I find watching England and now team GB depressing seeing how far behind the top countries we really are. I grew up in the 90's when we really had some good teams. They would absolutely wipe the floor with this lot.
Couldn't care less about the Olympics, or any sport except for football. Actually, to me football's not a sport. It's a highly addictive mix of love hate war religion business and sheer unadulterated lunacy.
Two favourite events, 100m should be a cracker, I want powell to win (but he never shows up at the majors) and the swimming is addictive to watch.
Pearce just shouldn't be there. What has he done to justify getting that job? Should've given Redknapp a call. He'd be perfect for getting the best out of a very limited number of players!
He is "loved" by the powers at the FA, they clearly see him as an organisation man, someone that will follow their system and be trusted to work with all levels, from the national team to the young kids and he can't go nothing wrong. Even if he played 11 left backs, no one at the FA would question him!
Bellowed when scoring in a penalty shootout against Spain, in a game where Spain were robbed a 1-0 victory in normal time...
I guess because he's dealing with a lot of players he's already worked with at under 21s. We should have picked Scottish and Northern Irish players too to make it a proper British team and not England + 3 Welsh players. Rhodes could've counted as Scottish and Barry Bannan also would've been alright, I fail to believe the likes of Sordell taking up squad places were really improving the team and especially not worth it when you're alienating half the nations represented by team GB. I also think Beckham should have gone, it's a one off special showpiece which we're never going to win so take the guy who's contributed so much to Team GB and the failed World Cup bid.
Going off topic a little, the Jamaicans have a hell of a 4x100 team. I think they could put out 4 of the 5 fastest men in history! This is what the Olympics is about not some half hearted thrown together British football team.
I thought the Olympics was about selling Pepsi t-shirts to everyone entering the stadium, to give the world's biggest middle finger to Seb Coent and his mates...
They couldn't, though they expressed their displeasure at not being able to do so. Bannan and Fletcher made the provisional list of 35 players, before it was whittled down to 18.
This is why Brazil won, obviously: Seems like it's his favourite song:
