Simpson will hold the ball up then try to dribble around a couple of Burnley players or shoot from outside the area (which will only just reach the six yard box) instead of releasing a simple pass off to a teammate and then joining in with the attack.
I dont think we should, just think we should maybe drop Koren in place of a more defensively minded player.
I am not gonna open pandora's box again but I really really don't get the bad blood against alex bruce. At the palace game people were straight to blame him for the handball penalty just because they assumed it had to be him when it was hobbs. I don't think he's the best but he has a role to play. I have no problem with Bruce playing him, it wouldn't be my first choice but I don't see the issue
The over reaction from City fans when Bruce Jnr plays is daft. No he isn't a midfielder, but we'll have to play someone like him there to stop us leaking goals. An example of how pathetic it was after Palace, was someone slagged him off by saying nepotism had cost us promotion. City to a tee this. Koren gets stick from everyone despite playing out of position for large part of the season, and yet is still up there with our top goal scorers.
I wouldn't start Bruce or Koren tonight. Faye is a decent defensive midfielder and Mcshane is a decent centre back. Stockdale Chester McShane Hobbs Elmo Meyler Faye Quinn Brady Boyd Gedo
BBC report says - Midfielders Ross Wallace (knee) and Dean Marney (calf) are unavailable, while defender Ben Mee is a doubt.
It's because of our 5 centre halves Bruce is the worst, and it's not even worth discussing his selection in midfield because there are probably 10 players I'd pick there in front of him who we pay.
Btw i was talking about Bruce Jnr playing anywhere in general. Not specifically in the midfield, but people groan when he's included in the back 4, despite him doing well enough.
