Would be nice to turn Utd over ,though on form they look yards quicker and more dangerous. They also look a tad suspect under pressure, so we have every chance if we go at them.

    Kepa
    Reece James- Rudiger-Zouma- Alonso
    Mount-Barkley-Kovacic
    Willian- Giroud- Pulisic

    OR alternatively

    Kepa
    Dave-Zouma-Rudiger
    James-Mount-Kovacic-Alonso
    Willian-Giroud-Pullisic

PLEASE Frank, use your bench earlier and better.

I’m not hopeful for this one. We have been far too inconsistent and united actually seem fairly organised.
They have similar frailties to ours but they seem a bit more organised with a better game plan. Of course, when we look good, we look really good and we do have some grit and bite about us. The trouble is, when we’re bad we’re worse than relegation fodder.
I really hope the players pull it together as we really owe United a defeat. 4 times being beaten by the same team in 1 season really isn’t good enough.

Super performance from the team. Special mention for James, Mount and Kova. Even Spurs read the script for our perfect day !

Great work, and even Jorginho put in, especially 2nd half, and Alonso was extra good. Didn't expect Willy to play and Pulisic to rest, but Willy was excellent.
Almost faultless team performance and terrific positive attitude start to finish.

That's very magnanimous of you Diego ! Was nervous about how today would go. I think your starting line-up was a boost for us. By the time Ole brought on the "heavies" and changed the formation the bird had flown. De Gea doing a Taibi impression didn't help your cause much either !!!

Didn't expect that from us Diego, we have been pretty scratchy and you have been more impressive. Our set up was really good this game and Jorginho played his part after 2 previous horrible performances. So much of that was attitude and belief.
Hope we both get CL next season , would be a great way to put the Virus season behind us.

Should be a walk in the park as the RS are focusing on the celebrations and where to take the wife/mistress/loverboy next week. But if you cock it up and lose then it will be real squeaky bum time with wolves fighting for an European place.

You might even want united to play their best formation against Leicester should they beat west ham on Wednesday.

We look so much better and assured playing this system, gives the wing backs the chance to show us how good
they are in the right set up.....Our only danger in the final will be Luiz.

We look better because every position has players able to play their best in that position. However against a team like Liverpool we are exposed to attacks through the midfield and pure pace down the flanks. Tough call for Frank to make, either 433 or wing backs against them is a bit of a lottery. Kante, if fit ,would be a bonus.
We did though ,give them serious trouble this season, so with out tails up, you never know !!

Considering the amount of favours we’ve done them this year, they can afford a slip for us...

Very good effort from us in the end. As expected, Liverpool opened us up with pace and just crisper more accurate passing. Willian had a very off day, James and Alonso, so good against Utd, were both poor with crosses and exposed a bit in defence, not pounded, but pretty stretched. Jorginho for mine was again a weak link, Zouma our best defender.
Pulisic made a massive difference, should have started with Mount, and Willian rested on the bench. CHO was better, Abraham tapped in well then disappeared again.
We know how much we are behind Pool, and I have no doubt will scare the pants off them with our new lineup.
Next game is our biggest of the season. COYB.

Zumba was missing along with Rudiger, that’s where the money should be spent along with a competent goalkeeper.

but instead you bought a winger & a CF / wide forward to add to Pulisic , CHO , Giroud & Abraham , Honestly it looks like you didn't expect Werner to become available & you are now overloaded up front despite the other end of the pitch being your problem

We needed all the players we have bought, plus defenders. We also need a midfielder to play the distributor role that Jorginho is struggling to play to the required standard.
That's what our first year under Franks' preferred style of play has shown, and we have overachieved despite the obvious flaws. That's why we have been so inconsistent. We'll get to defence before the new season starts, and I fully expect not all the youngsters who have done so well, will still be first choices at next seasons end. We will however, have their positions covered with players of top calibre, and subs of almost equal quality with years of improvement in them. That's what rebuilding takes. Ask Klopp or Ole.

I anticipate that a few will be shipped out. It sounds like Willian is heading out and I wouldn’t be surprised if Jorginho is a gonner too.
Kepa looks like he’s out too. I feel for him. It’s not through lack of effort, there just seems to be a naivety about him. Unfortunately when you’re the last line of defence, that’s costs you.

Kepas' been in a slide since his sub fiasco last season. Read that he might be loaned / swapped first, as we'd take an almighty hit on price if we sell now. Willian, Pedro, at least one of Rudiger, Zouma or Christensen, Alonso or Emerson, Batshuayi and Jorginho are all looking like goners. Barkley and Tomori are also apparently being offered to the Hammers as part payment for Rice. Whatever the truth, there will be a clear out of more than a few players, plus a couple of excellent servants leaving, and I am confident the right defenders will be brought in. If we do get the defence right, we should be in great shape for a few seasons with the kids in long term contracts, great young spine of a team and enough experience to steer us for the foreseeable future. What's to fret about, we're looking better than anyone thought a year ago !

you have already spent £70-80m with Havertz on his way by the sounds of it which will be at least another £50m plus 3 new wages bills on the books circa £300kpw minimum . This spend is while you have a much reduced income , as you and all other PL clubs will have for at least some of next season , and you think you are also going to buy 3 first choice defenders .
Oh and our rebuilding took 6 transfer windows to achieve though starting from a lower point than yourselves .

Absolutely correct, but we're not just spending, we're also selling, and removing as many salaries as we are adding. Didn't say we'll get 3 defenders, but we sure as hell will get one great one. We have no choice with both Utd and City doing a similar ,if slightly smaller rebuild, and Liverpool miles ahead. We've had a season and a half with almost no new players, a manager round about, a transfer ban, and an undercooked team, so what we are doing looks both right and necessary. We've got stability in Manager for the first time in years, and a great foundation. Now we're removing what doesn't work, and upgrading to what, hopefully will.
