I wouldn't mind it if we tried playing without forwards. It seems to be one of our weaker points, and our midfield seems to be propping us up, so perhaps strengthen the midfield and use JET as the main attacking force. Maloney and Cunningham get a ton of space to move around and build attacks, Pack and Gillett are there to link up play and protect the defense aggressively, Bryan and Reid are inverted so they can cut inside and provide for JET and Wynter.

Having that buffer between the attacking midfielders and the defenders mean that we can aggressively press when we don't have the ball, and if any of the defenders decide to push up to get the ball, or to play with it, we've got Pack and Gillett there to slot in.

Assuming Pack and Gillett pick up cards, they are easily swapped out for Baldock and Elliot/Wagstaff to move to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-2.

Out of interest, has any other team in League 1 tried playing without forwards? The only team I can think of in England that has used it recently is Chelsea.
