OK so a great win yesterday but a tough 90 mins. For me it's time to utiliise the squad and rest a few. Think JRod and Osvaldo need a goal so I would play them and rest Rickie. Also give Lovren a break.

My starter for ten

Kelvin

Chambers Fonte Maya Targett

Cork Davis

Jrod Gaston JWP

Osvaldo

Subs Cropper Shaw Jos Guly Rowe Isgrove Sinclair

----Rowe---Davis--Gaston
-------------JRod

Bench: Britt, Turnbull, Isgrove, Sinclair, Segar, Osvaldo, Reed

I think we are ideally suited for a long cup campaign but I also think we can finish very high up in the table and would prefer to use the cup competition for match practice and to blood youngsters. We might play a few more regulars than that but the Liverpool match was very taxing and even Lovren and Fonte seemed to struggling physically so I would like to see the starting XI rested.

Shows the strength of the squad though Rabbit. I left Fox out as I thought he was injured?
Yeah good point, I would be happy for Targett to start if fox isn't fit. Hear decent things about targett but I really like Turnbull as well and can't see why stephens got a spot on the bench ahead of him when the times i've seen them both Turnbull has looked far superior.

EVen though this league cup team might not be used to playing with each other competetively, they often train together and they all play with a broadly similar system so I can't see too many reasons why we can't put in another good performance and get a few goals.

Its amazing that we could most of the players and still have a team that could win the odd game in the Premier league.

He is probably playing GTA5, but Matt Targett tweeted Sickkkk!

I believe this is young person chat for some thing good.

Could it be a call up to the 1st team squad or is it a roast dinner this afternoon

Maybe he has to tidy his room.

Read that quickly and thought he was ill. God I'm old.

I'd go with that. If not, have Guly somewhere in the 18 and maybe Lambert, Lallana or even Lee on the bench for if we're in need of a goal. We need to send Gazza out on loan.

Interesting that unlike in the last round people arent calling for a strong side. Shows we all think we now have a giood squad.

I would like to see as strong a side as possible, allowing for some rotation. Personally, I'd far rather win a cup and finish 14th, than go out in the early rounds of both Cups and finish 8th. Of course, I realise it's not a matter of picking from those sort of options, as Wigan fans will testify..
