Bloody hell mate, I could have written that, word for word. Spot on imo. I also agree with nines that maybe Derry would put some much needed steel and determination into the side.
Yep, I realise that Nelson and M'Bia would be the other way round, as would Faurlin and Diakite....just didn't worry about being that precise mate. I also agree with comments about Faurlin's confidence being badly knocked by being dropped. He looks like all the confidence has disappeared from him. Perhaps Derry in for him, but that won't help Faurlin to get his mojo back.
I also agree with this, but I'm not sure he's the right bloke for a relegation scrap.....then again....he was last year! I have always said that he's our biggest goal threat and he's not getting the service.
We need goals. You don 't win matches without them. With so little strike force, we've got to bring two midfielders forward (not backward). Going to OT to defend against the probably indefensible will only get one result. For me, forget choices. We have to be 433 atm. Dyer---- M'bia---Nelsen----Traore ----Diakite---Granero---Faurlin---- ----Hoilett---Mackie---Taarabt----
When we don't have the ball that's 4-5-1 Brix, the same as my 4-2-3-1. Not much difference tbh other than I prefer two holding midfielders to allow extra cover for the attacking wider players in my formation who would be Hoilett and Taarabt. I agree with you that we need to give it a go at OT though. If we sit back a la Hughes's usual away game plan we're ****ed.....big time!!
Would rather go to OT and go for it, rather than park the bus as Brix said. If we win at OT it will be the BEST result in our history and biggest EPL shock in history.
I'd make sure that Derry and Mackie start. These two actually care. They will shout at and encourage the others. We need players now who care.
I have a horrible feeling that whatever team starts we will probably concede double figures! Agree with nuts though, Derry would be the first name on my team sheet.
Dyer----Nelsen-----Hill------Traore -------Faurlin------Diakite-------- ------------Granero-------------- Hoilett---------------------Taarabt -------------Mackie---------------
I hope Traore doesn't play. If he collapsed on the ground at the end it's because he's not used to playing a full match. I swear he started eagerly walking to the bench when he saw Fabio coming on, then stop open mouthed and hands on hips when he realized it wasn't for him. Thought he was very promising early last season, but Wenger doesn't get rid of real potential. Poor defensively, lacks concentration, no personal responsibility, not up for it, bit dim. Southampton played a 17 year old, Luke Shaw, at full back on Saturday. While I wouldn't throw the kids in against Utd, the time has to come. Mind you I think the shambles who played against the Saints will have been shamed into showing plenty of passion next weekend. 3 sent off.
I'm well aware he cares etc and I know how the current crop of players have performed, but Derry should not start Saturday. Come on now.
I dont care who starts on Saturday and I dont think most of the players will care either as long as MH is in charge
I personally think you're dead wrong. Explain why teams like Norwich, Swansea, Reading or Southampton are all higher than us in the league.
If MH is still in charge I'm excited to see what he and the players can do, now that the writing is on the wall. Would like to see dyer, mackie and possibly onuoha given a run at the expense of bosingwa, Anton and Cisse. Fabio in as well for traore if he can play.
Intresting the amount of posters who openly agreed a few months ago that derry was not good enough; now want him back in the squad. Personally I dont but agree he will always give his all. This is Old Trafford we're going too..If our players dont want to perform or be motivated at the countrys top stadium against the country's top team, then thier really is no way of ever motivating them. Anyone who doesnt care at OT should be training with the kids! PS..Derry's record at OT aint too good, maybe he has something to prove ? PPS..would defo play Cisse at OT. Cant see anyone else scoring TBH
With respect, I think this perfectly encapsulates Hughes's thinking. All these "big time charlies" are proving to be a big part of the problem. I'd have no problem with Derry starting in place of any of the 3 midfielders.
I suggest we play 11 players who give a **** and a manager who will opens his eyes and react to what is happening on the pitch during the game.
That was basically my point vale. I don't think we have 11 players that give a sh**e. I know it would be a retrograde step but at this stage I would play Derry and Mackie because they seem to be the only two players who actually give a sh**e
