Stoke won't be easy but we should do it if we play 4-4-2 with a diamond formation in midfield. .................................Westwood.......................................... O'Shea..............Turner..................Brown..................Bardsley ....................................Catts................................................ Larrson..................................................................McClean ....................................Sess............................................... .....................Ji..............................Bendy........................... if we go into the game with a defensive attitude against stoke we're ****ed.
I can't see there been many there with the Great North Run and also the fact that the majority of our fans have thrown in the towel already this season and want the manager sacked. As for getting to the ground, I would suggest that you come down the A1, go past the Angel of the North, and take the Washington turn off for Sunderland. Then just follow the signs for Sunderland North which will lead you to the Stadium. I would suggest that you take advantage of the park and ride services which you will see sign posted on the way...
Mr White Much appreciated... Will leave the car in town and let the missus loose with the credit card.. I think I Know that road pretty well Will use the park and ride as suggested.. top man Mr White
Use the train and metro, gets you right off outside the stadium, no traffic, you can have a good social drink, no license to worry about, easy.
Westwood, migs been ****, bardo, brown, titus, oshea (if fit) sess, colback, ricco ji, wickham & bendtner FFS lets have a b*stard go at somebody and attack.
Well its **** or bust for Bruce from now on and he simply HAS to change the players that have so far under-performed and let him down. Cattermole has been taken off 3 games in a row and should be dropped. Colback is too young to effect the game possitively. He has done nowt wrong but I think the time for sentiment is past and experience is required in the shape of David Vaughan. Bardo is far better at LB than RB and should be back there IMO and Turner (if fit) will be needed for his height. We should put Brown back to a position he can play if O Shea is out and at RB he has played for MU and England. Mig looks ropey to me and Westwood should get 3 games and Richardsons only place in my team is at L Midfield, where his pace and attacking ambitions can be utilised. Sess isnt a striker or a winger so I would let him have that free role behind the strikers. As for the Strikers we have to abandon this useless 1 up front and as a reward for his goal, I'd give Won a run out alongside Bendtner. This team will have height and strength, which we will need in abundance v Stoke and I think our best bet for players playing in position they are comfortable in and able to keep the shape. Westwood Brown, Turner, Bramble, Bardo Vaughan Larsson, Sessegnon, Richardson Won, Bendtner Subs: Mig, Laing, Elmo, Colback, Catts, Gardener, Wickham
Well someone has to say it, we all have a variation of 4-4-2 but will Bruce really abandon 4-5-1. We need to go for a win but am I alone in fearing we will go out not to lose?
I think it's like a few of the really disconcerted brigade are getting at, isn't it? It's not so much the results, but the way he (Bruce) is going about things. Can't understand him, meself.
and I feel negative saying it and hope its just in my head, will be a lot happier when I hear the team and find its a 4-4-2
It's defiantly not **** or bust for Bruce however much people wish it to be. Stoke are a very tidy team these days. Agree with cest about Sessegnon. The lad could be devastating given a free role.
I wouldn't put Larsson anywhere near our team - he is slower than me and I'm 52 FFS. Why we signed this past his best midfielder from a releagted team, only SB knows. Hang on a minute we signed 3 midfielders from relegated teams, a fizzy pop goalie and striker, and an asian striker who no-body knew. Nae wonder we are playing PISH!!! My Team would be:- Westwood (Mig has been pish) Bardsley (RB) (Elmo if he is banned) Brown Bramble (he will get better with games) O'shea Sess (RW) Catts Vaughan (Gardner and Colback have had their chance) Richardson Bendtner Ji That team will win.............. Bart
You confuse me Bart, you call Bruce for signing a fizzy pop goalie, but play him, a midfielder from a relegated team, but pkay him and some unknown asian striker who you play. Seems a classic case of Bruce cant win to me.
I like this team Cest it can be dangerous if given time to gel and not tinkered with every week. Only thing now is Bardo is banned isnt he? So looks like back to Ricco @ left back and you can garuntee it will be a 5 man midfield with Bendtner up top, so frustrating.
--------------------Migs----------------------- O'Shea----Bramble---Brown----Richardson/Colback Larsson--Sessegnon--Cattermole--Ji ---------Wickham-----Bendtner
Difficult not to consider Stoke's size and strength when suggesting a line up. We need some strength, height and heading ability at the back to support a goalkeeper confident of coming and getting the ball in a crowded area. Midfield to work hard but play football to feet!! Anything in the air will be easy for Stoke. Strikers have got to keep the big guys busy and compete defensively at set pieces. So, goalkeeper? not a clue, who is the strongest and most dominant in his box? Mig can be good but seen him flap too, Westwood I haven't seen enough of him but most experienced! Defence, Brown at the heart (talks and can play football), Elmo and O'Shea as full backs, then Turner or Bramble? Bramble at his best is the better footballer, but Turner is better in the air and will provide a threat in their box too. Midfield and attack, Catts will be a definite starter and I would fancy Vaughan to bring a bit of craft to the midfield. The wing men need to have pace and delivery, and track back too. Larsson provides delivery for set pieces but I feel he isn't involved in the game as much as I would like to see. Sess needs to be in the mix somewhere because his quick feet will bamboozle the big guys. Richardson has the pace best seen when playing wide left. Up front, if we go with one it will be Bendtner, I would like to see Ji Dong Won play alongside him and our midfield play the ball into his feet and down the channels rather than just pump it up field. So, how about: Westwood Elmo- Brown- Turner-O'Shea Sess-Catts-Vaughan-Richardson Ji-Bendtner subs: Mig, Laing, Bramble, Larsson, Colback, Gardner, Whickham
