Grifter, I for one will not be taking QPR lightly for three reasons. Number one it's a London derby and anything can happen. Number two you have an ex Spurs man at the top and often when Spurs meet a team with an ex player or coach we lose. Three, well Spurs v QPR matches over the years have been very close run things at times so I'm not crowing yet. Yes you lost to Hull but next week is a completely different scenario. Harry will want to win badly.

Defensively we were a bit of a mess all game so that will have to improve next week, even if it's only one of Remy and Austin starting. At the moment we don't know where Vertonghen and Chiriches are fitness-wise and if Naughton's ban is upheld(likely knowing the FA) then we may end up with 3 centre halves and 2 left backs to pick a back 4 from, which is worrying as Kaboul was appalling against West Ham and Pochettino doesn't rate Dawson for this system.

In attack and midfield I do expect improvement, we've got lots of options there and I'd fancy our attack to give your slow centre backs a run around. I think the key for us will be who we have available for defence and wheter they can perform on the day.

We were below average but done enough to secure the points, which was the most important thing. Though we were massively understrength squad wise. Vertonghen, Chiriches, Paulinho, Dembele, Chadli, Walker and Sandro weren't in the squad, mainly due to late returnees and players returning from injury. You could make a case for all 8 of those possibly being in the first XI so to go to West Ham fairly depleted showed good character from the players, especially when we were down to 10. Of the 8 that missed out, only Chiriches is likely to be the one who will need a few more weeks before being in contention as he was injured throughout all of the summer and I think he has only just returned to training (Walker may be ready in a week or so). The rest should be in some form of contention for our game with you (hopefully).

We're going to need probably a good 5 more league games to be at a solid level, that should be enough for the players to understand Poch's ideas and philosophy and then from there on to build on that further, so it's probably an ideal time to face us early while we're still getting into the swing of things.

I'm expecting a tough game when you guys come to town, Harry is a fantastic manager - as all Spurs fans know - and will no doubt be coming here with a point to prove, as any manager would against their former club. At home we really should be winning though, that's no disrespect to you guys but on paper we have a better squad and the home advantage should see us through. Football's a funny old game though and anything can happen. Aside from our games, I'll wish you boys well, I'll always be extremely grateful to Harry, it was under him that I saw some of the best football Spurs have played in my 24 years so wherever he manages I hope it goes well for him.

Exactly mate, this really is the best time be playing us, I think Poch is still working out his best XI as pre-season is too hard to judge on (plus our WC stars who recently returned) and the players are still learning the trade so to speak.

The team you've listed is definitely going to cause us problems. I'm hoping we can avoid giving away corners as we all know how dangerous Caulker is in the air and we'll need Kaboul to be on top form (which he hasn't been for a while), as he's our only fit CB with genuine pace who'd be best at trying to mark Remy and he's also a beast in the air to contend with Caulker from set plays. I'm hoping we can exploit the newly formed back 3, those who you've mentioned are a work in progress and so hopefully our front 4 can cause some problems and confusion amongst them to allow us through on goal.

I'd like to see a team of:

Hugo,
Dier, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Davies
Capoue, Holtby
Lamela, Eriksen, Townsend
Ade

It's going to be a tight affair and I'm buzzing to get down the Lane for our first home league game, I'd like to think we can win this with a 2-0/ 2-1 score line, though I won't be putting any bets on just yet.

I've just been on the phone to this crowd mate (http://www.oslo-universitetssykehus.no/) and they've taken him in for tests.

Its too early to tell but they reckon poor auld Ozzie is suffering from Adel Tourettes. He can't help using certain words no matter the conversation. Dreadful condition.

I hope they sort him out.
