This is the last thing I'm worried about. We always turn up against the big teams and in the big games. It's kinda what we're known for in recent seasons, followed by playing like absolute ****e against a bottom 3 team in the next game! We'll turn up alright. It'll be a great game.
I agree we always turn up. This will be a close game that can go either way, one team will have the determination, skill, tactical know how, vision and work rate. So will the other. One team will have a little more luck. I hope it's us. I'll be proud of the lads as long as they give it their all.
I can't make my mind up what team should play! I agree no Hendo(been saying he's anonymous all season), would prefer no Carra but seems he will play. One thing is we either play Carrol and then a flat back four or leave him out and play 3CB; they are stronger in the air than us so although I think Carrol would be ineffective in attack his defensive skills at set pieces would be handy unless we have Carra, Skrtel and Agger. We also need as much pace as possible to force Chelsea to defend deep; I would play Bellers, Suarez and Maxi or Kuyt as this would cause Chelsea heaps of problems with their movement and the pace of Bellers. --------------Reina------------------- Skrtel-------Carra----------Agger----- Johnson-----------------------Enrique- ---------Shelvey---------Gerrard------- Kuyt----------------------------Bellamy-- ------------Suarez---------------------- I think five at the back may actually work better against Chelsea and will allow us to combat their late runners i.e Lampard and Miereles better than a flat back four without Lucas. The only danger is the counter-attack as I see us dominating posession and them hitting us on the break, especially if Torres is playing and Ramires could be a danger in that regard too!
Key players that should be starting: Reina Agger Skrtel Johnson Enrique Bellamy Gerrard Suarez I would be inclined to use Maxi as Chelsea will come out at us which would leave pockets of space that Maxi uses intelligently.
