I agree with this. It's a shame to drop Chambers but he has shown he can play on either side so is a great substitute to have. And Clyne is just too good to leave out. The commentator said yesterday something like "and Southampton are bringing on the wise old head, aged 22, of Nathaniel Clyne." That sums him up perfectly.

I know that it probably cost a lot of money to get Chambers to this stage, but must be considered peanuts to acquire a player of his calibre without a transfer fee (and no doubt on baby wages).

First of all I don't think Osvaldo is necessarily a pacy player - I don't think he's slow, but pace wouldn't be one of his assets that I'd point out. Secondly I think Cahill is very quick for a centre back, and possibly quicker than Osvaldo!
I think Ivanovic being out is a massive boost for us, one of the best defenders in the league IMO.

    Give us a match thread!

Fun fact; last league match against Chelsea was played a month ago. :)

Poch on Osvaldo "After the game against Newcastle he (Osvaldo) picked up a knock on his right leg, so that ruled him out of a few games and then he picked up an illness and we’re waiting to see what the analysis is of that illness to see when he’s going to be back.”
That covenient illness called Club Suspension, only time can cure it.

If he loses the appeal and misses all of January, then that really will be silly.

Is there a remote chance that the appeal will be succesful? Will he still be here? These questions and more need to be addressed
