Don't rate him. Maybe I'd have him on the bench over Koren.

    I think it'll be:

    McGregor
    Chester Davies Figueroa
    Elmo Meyler Huddlestone Livermore Brady
    Aluko Graham

Everyone seems to pretty much be assuming the same personnel but variations as to what formation they'll play!

We've been trying out 433 but I hope we don't revert back to 352. I don't think it will work in the prem.

Also, is Figgy definitely considered a CB now?

Chelsea play 4-2-3-1 and if we play 3-5-2, I think they'll murder us. We left far too many gaps at the back; I think 4-3-3 or an attacking 4-4-2 will be better.

Figueroa can play CB, or LB, or LWB.

I can't get my head round why so many people are saying this. What on earth makes you think playing an attacking 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 will somehow be less open than the 3-5-2 we shut many sides out playing last season?

None of us know what formation we'll play, but if we play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, it certainly isn't with a view to being defensive.

No I agree, I think one of the reasons why I feel we might go 4-2-3-1, would be to give Brady and Aluko more freedom to attack, with Huddlestone and Livermore sitting in front of the back 4!

3 at the back would get exposed way too easily in the PL considering Elmohamedy can never be arsed to defend. You can get away with it in the Championship with Chester/Meyler covering, but we won't be facing the likes of Jamie Ward on the wing. Instead we'd have Hazard who would **** us up given all that space.

    McGregor
    Chester. Davies (capt). Figueroa.
    Elmo. Meyler. Huddlestone. Livermore. Brady
    Aluko. Graham.

subs: Jako, Rosie, McShane, Dudgeon, Boyd, Sagbo, Fryatt.

Its very hard to pick the subs, leaving out Faye, Koren and Prossy.

Seeing the variations in formations is great - shows our team has more flexibility and also more than one game plan if needed for different teams and situations.

I think we'd be more likely to get ****ed up by trying to play 2 midfielders against a midfield three of Lampard, Ramires and Oscar and that's why it won't happen.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this, the extra energy and defensive qualities Brady and Elmo could provide may be helpful against a team like chelsea, they are both good enough at attacking the wings in that role aswell.

    McGregor

    Rosenior Chester Davies Figueroa

    Meyler Huddlestone

    Aluko

    Elmo Graham Brady

What won't happen? 4231 I assume you mean?

I wouldn't play that, I'd play 433/451 with a CM three of Huddlestone, Livermore and Meyler.

Unless you didn't mean 4231, ignore what I just said ;)

Faye is also injured for Sunday, but I don't think that would affect the team selection.

    It probably wouldn't.

The defence was always going to have Chester, Figueroa and Davies.

He probably would have been on the bench though. Probably for someone like Fryatt, to be honest.

Meyler will definitely be in the team, can't believe people are suggesting he shouldn't be. He's a very important player to us, his height, work rate, and box to box ability is huge for us.

it might work against Palace and it tore cardiff a new arsehole on the last day of the season.
but I agree.. against the more established sides, like your man U's and chelskis, they will play us off the pitch.

I dunno about you lot but Im getting all moist thinking about tomorrow.
