Same formation is yesterday, Faye for Davies as a straight replacement, and I would like to see Gedo for Koren.

Team selection for this game is a tough one.

Do you play the same starting XI (except Chester for Davies imo) who will be brimming with confidence ?

Or do you tinker at the edges, rest a few legs knowing that Arsenal will have had 24 hours extra recovery ?

Not sure in which bit of the game Koren was 'awesome', he was less than average yesterday. As soon as he went off we played miles better. He should be doing better as captain; yeah alright he's never been a tough tackling midfielder, but there were plenty of times yesterday when he could've put a foot in or intercepted a pass and he didn't. He did play a couple of nice balls through, but by and large he was a bit **** yesterday and I agree with PLT in that Boyd should get the nod.

Think Koren has had two poor games against Palace and Liverpool and should be dropped for the Arsenal game.

I would go for this, except Faye in for Chester, as he will not be match ready yet. Play Faye for 60 minutes and then change for Chester.

Yes. They're above Liverpool in the league and we're away from home.

Glad to help you out with this.

How does anyone know if he's fit or not though? He was on the bench on Saturday so he must have been able to play if needed.

With a player that has been out for many weeks, he needs to get match fit, 30 minutes in a game would be the first step by most managers to ease him back into the game. The last 30 minutes players are getting tired, so it would be better to give him the last 30 minutes, rather than start him.

Agreed 100% CanadaTiger. No game to bring Chester back in cold. Faye gives us an arial threat from set pieces and we need to make it hard for the Gunners to pass through us. Rosie back at full back also.

We shall have tired legs after Liverpool so fresh ones a cert. Hit them on the break and who knows ? The bench looks strong for attacking options in the final 15 mins or so.

Could well be another surprise at the Emerates weds night.

    Faye to be capt imo.

McGregor didn't need it though did he? OK he's a goalie so what about Hobbs last year? Came straight in and played pretty much every game for months without having to work his way back in gradually, and that was after 9 months out. Chester has been out 8 weeks but his injury was a hamstring so he'll still have kept fit and strong. Clearly there's no way of knowing whether the players are ready or not or how long it takes. I'd just leave it to Brucey. I'm sure we all agree Chezzie is the obvious choice if fit so if Bruce plays him he's fit, if he doesn't then he obviously feels he isn't ready yet <ok>

You wouldnt want Chez and Bruce as a CB pairing. Giroud is a big lad and Mertesacker coming up at corners too. It has to be Faye for me.

It's hard to say with Arsenal. Against Big Olly Giroud in the air I'd want Faye but against Wilshere, Cazorla, Ozil, etc I'd want Chezzy.

We have a habit of rushing players back, I reckon Bruce thinks they are all as mental as he was and go through the pain barrier for the team. They dont look at Brady.

    Keep Chezz in reserve.

Must admit wish i was going. Apparently one of their songs now is
Ozil to the left of me
    Wilshere to the right
    stuck in the middle Giroud

Whoever SB picks in central defence at Arsenal will put in a good shift. It's the one area of our team where competition is fierce and they all know they have to be at their best to keep the shirt.

Agreed re.Chester and is the box a wooden one that Dr Allam has for you btw ?.........

Oh i hope they do treat us with contempt actually. They have Everton @ home at the weekend so who knows other than Wenger. ?

    Agreed.

Spot on John. Chester to help out a defence at the end that will be under real pressure for most of it. Faye to replace Davies imo. Whatever the score Curtis Davies will be back for the more important game @ Swansea next monday.

Very true. But at least Curtis Davies will be 100% refreshed and ready to go @ Swansea.
