Getting the right sort in presumably means the right attitude so that they both enhance the first team and won't mid if they have to wait their turn to be phased in. They should also blend in so that the chances of disharmony are reduced. We need additional quality and I'm very happy with the work they've put in to secure players - it's gone a long way to filling that gap between a decent Championship side and one ready to compete. For me, Fer and one more striker (young, a bit of top flight experience and bags of potential) would have me doing cartwheels. However, if remy and Tarbs go then they will need direct replacements (top class striker or at least 10+ goals and a creative midfielder rare as they are). So far so good though.
I think we were all agreed that (despite many comments in the press that we already had a Premier League squad) major surgery was required to stand any chance of staying up. We have taken in 4 good looking options so far, 5 if Remy can be convinced to sign a different contract. That's the absolute minimum I expected so TBH thoughts of destabilising the existing squad are not really on my mind. I know we all worry about a repeat of earlier mistakes but some kind of risk taking is required.
I think it's widely agreed that we needed an injection of talent and cover if we were to have any hope of surviving this season, so no I don't see a problem. Still need a few more recruits to complete the squad, and we seem to be getting in the "right sort" so looking positive
If/when Tarbs goes, may I have a 2nder for Rosicki or Willshire on a season long loan as neither will get much of a look in at Arsenal this season? Rosicki pref but either are way better than anything we have. No doubt 15 other teams may want them.
We need a LEFT BACK! It has to be priority numero uno at the moment. Isla don't play there regardless of what the (inaccurate) reports say. Yun too unproven and Traore too unreliable.
