Musty, He often surprises me - he has loads of football & cricket memorabilia from the 40s onwards, as well as press cuttings from that period.
Musty, He showed me a scrapbook a couple of weeks ago which had loads of press cuttings/photos of players from various teams from the 40s I'd never heard of. Anyway, up the wooden hill to dream of beating Sunderland 3-0!!
Hi Ivoralljack I sure it was a young kid called Howard Kendall who scored that goal as I was behind the other goal, as you say he was on the touch line.Iwas right behind when he put is boot to the ball, The sunday papers said it was a young 17year old who knocked the swans out, yes dwyer was at fault the game .should not have bean played as there was 2ins of water on the pitch ,we know it was 47yrs ago for most of us Im sure it was more than 24 ,000 the next game was 5th rd sheff/utd then l/pool in the 6th rd if you remember at l/pool ,I also was at the arsenall game .
