How would you change

Pope drop him ?

Bring Jacko in, maybe slow now but will gee the team up and sort them out maybe?

Start Grant ?

Leave as is see how things pan out for a few weeks?

According to those who were there Pope was easily our best player on Saturday, so dropping him for Mitov is a no-no. I'd bring Jackson in for Ba, we need his character and leadership. Up front Luzon has to find two strikers who can play together, although his decision may be decided more by who is available than anything else. I feel Holmes-Dennis should be in the squad by now.

We cannot and should not play Jackson in a midfield two, and if we have three in the centre that leaves one up front which we know doesn't work.

Is it worth changing the system to bring Jackson in?

The justification for bringing Jacko back is as follows -

1. Solly is not a natural captain, and his form has dipped.

2. Jackson pops up with goals

3. He instills a bit of pride in his team mates, something lacking v Blackburn

Jacko in the middle with Cousins. Assuming Big Mak is still unfit. Start with KAG and Watt. Put Lookman on the bench.
Pope, Solly, Sarr, Bauer, Fox, JBG, Cuz, Jacko, Bergditch (no other choice) Watt, KAG.

Yes I did. I really enjoyed the 'charlton observer' board and was disappointed when it closed.
I was also a member of ITTV for a while. I eventually got banned for exposing Reams' two-faced, flip-flopping and threats of violence.
I'm hoping this forum will keep a sane level of comment. (even with Royston's presence) ....... Joke :)

I think the team will be.

Pope
Solly, Baeur, Sarr, Fox
Gudmundsson, Cousins, Kashi, Bergdich
Ahearne- Grant, Watt

Subs Mitov, Lennon, Holmes- Dennis, Ba, Kennedy, Moussa, Muldoon

If that line up had appeared in the Championship under Slater & Jiminez, CAST would be raising funds through a tombola to hire out Woolwich Town Hall.

There are at least 4 players in there who are not Championship standard. I say it again, Gomez money reinvested my arse.

RD Cheerleaders will point out that we still have Tucadean, Reza and Moussa on the treatment table <cheers>

I agree with the other two, but feel you are a bit harsh with Moussa, he done very well in a poor Coventry side scoring and assisting a lot. He looked lively last season and scored a goal and has been injured since. IMO a major improvement on anyone that has been played on the left in the last season,

Tucadean is wrong too! He went to Steaua Bucharest or somewhere, is now registered as belonging to a foreign club, and can't play until january. I expect that'll have you worried!

He looks so far off the pace I fear, at best, it will be a good few months before he's in any shape to start a game.

So with that said, he'll be playing tomorrow.

He does not have a lot of other options. I would think McAleny would be on the bench rather than Muldoon. And if Solly cannot play another game this week, Cousins at right-back, with Ba In midfield.

I am hoping for more from Bergdich, Sarr and Ba with increasing familiarity with the team, but that strike pairing is hardly terrifying, and there is no genuine striker on the bench.

Time to give Umerah or Hanlan a sniff, Dick? Which of them is more advanced?

Have you been re-watching "El Cid" where the Spaniards ride into battle with the deceased Cid propped up on his charger in the vanguard? It inspired plenty of pride in his team-mates. The Spanish broke their losing streak. Playing Jackson would equal that trick, but if referees ban rings and neck-chains I don't think they will permit zimmer frames.

I haven't seen them this season, but Umerah is more of an out and out striker, so I wouldn't play him as he wouldn't get any service. Hanlon works like a Trojan for 90 minutes and would probably make a decent contribution to the team.

I really don't rate Kennedy. With due respect to Mickhail, it shows you how weak we are that he is anywhere near the first team. Our squad has got the look of relegation about it. In my opinion the following players are good enough for the Championship. Henderson, Solly, Gudmundsson, Cousins, Diarra, Baeur, Watt, Makienok. A fit and firing Vetokele, Kashi. The rest are not good enough or I am undecided about them. That is not enough to get through a whole season.
