Bet you £1,000 right now that the FAW will still be in existence in 5 years time, mabon. More's the pity.

I thought any player born in any country could move to another country playing for a club team in that country & if they played long for that club team that they could chose that country as there international team . Owen Hargraves could have played for Canada , Wales , Germany or England .... not really sure which one he was born in but I assume it was one of them Lol !!

<laugh> That's right the FAW will be around in 5 years but not in 10 because in 2012 our players lined up for Team GB.

    Hysterical, mate.

So many things can happen in 10 years, for all we know FIFA could be replaced by another organisation, or another will rival it. But I am sure that TeamGB will have no bearing on anything within it, as GB doesn't exist within FIFA as a country.

Valley we are going round in circles here now, all i am saying is this, if they decide to have a vote they can use the olympic football team as a precedent for us playing as one nation in team gb, end of debate, sepp blatter has already alluded to it. now lets wait and see what happens. i have done this to death now

And we can go on to say that none of the home nation FAs endorsed players to take part, and it's a big if MabonJack that they'll even have a vote. The point is though in 10 years or beyond what TeamGB did in 2012 is not going to have any bearing on anything.

If they want they could refer ti it in 50 years time, a precedent is a precedent at any time of the day<ok> like i said let us see how it pans out the future is not a long way off.

In what way MabonJack ? That the home nation FAs did endorse this! Players have every right to represent their country in the Olympics especially when we as the home nation do not have to qualify for the competition. And in 50 years I don't think FIFA will exist, and certainly Blatter will be gone in probably less than 50 months!

valley the point i was making was it could be 4 years or 50 years who knows, but there is no time limit, i would say blatter going will be a very dangerous time for the home nations, who will get it and from what country africa/concacaf?, and more interesting what will be his take on this, all unknowns i agree but that makes it more worrying

Twice as long as half of it . Scenario ...If I was a player & had an opportunity to play for either England & Wales in international play & took the long , hard road of Wales .... I'd be more than a little ticked at anyone telling me they want to banish me from playing for Wales because I wanted to play for Great Britain in the Olympics ....

breezy these players will have a backlash from the fans at international games, its already happened in a Wales international, expect it to be a lot worse for any scottish player because their fans are totally against this team

Wrong fans on the warpath ain't anything new in the history of world football & I expect more of the same in the future of world football . #1 - Fans should respect players & there rights & decisions -- #2 - Everything else ... it's just people playing football .

Well surely your argument for respect starts at the very top ... with Mr Blatter.

The only reason we have created 'team GB' is due to the special disposition allowed to the hosts. Should we do well, the Olympic commitee and FIFA can demand we defend our title.

This then puts a completely different slant on the political process, especially since FIFA have not done the decent thing and simply deliver a cast iron guarantee that there will be no aftermath. WHY NOT ?????

My beef is not with our players or FA....it is with FIFA/ SB. Unfortunately, we have all seen the 'Power' that this guy holds and corruptness that has allowed to happen under him. The dissolution of the home nations team/comimtee in FIFA may or may not happen, but there is one thing thats guarateed.... Blatter will **** BRITISH FOOTBALL over if he can.
