I thought he had a great game... Bossed his opponents and has a decent turn of speed which, god help us, we really need at the back - couldn't give a toss what he did or didn't do for other teams, all I care about is how he plays for us!
In his pre-match interview, Taiwo said the Spurs wingmen would be stopped. Well, as unconventional as Taye may be, they didn't get through did they? But as someone said earlier, it's the spirit of the man that gives us cause to join him in celebration. Huge smile to complement his physical presence and gutsy determination. Taiwo adds such great character to the club and connects brilliantly with the supporters. Top gun.
As someone said on another thread; It's not until next season if we stay up we will see the best from him as we're now in a fight for our lives to stay up. Next season he will have a much better chance of expressing himself higher up the pitch. But take his cross for Cisse's goal against Liverpool, his 70 yard pass that landed on Zamoras shoelaces against WBA and his late raid and cross for Zamora yesterday. It all shows he's got and incredible accurate left peg, and as I've said above, under less pressure and restrictions from MH we'll get to see a lot more of it.
Surely we must all agree that Hughes has finally (and just in time) worked out his players and formations and is getting the best out of them? Hill despite being loaned to forest could well be our player of the season. Taiwo is improving massively as is diakite. Barton has finally shut his gob and is playing well. It's coming together well now and if we can stay up then next season could see us really move on a level
This. I reckon MH deserves a lot of credit for how well drilled he has the team (at home at least), the Liverpool result was a freak but the game plans against the Gooners, Swansea and Spuds were spot on. Can see us getting at least a point at the Bridge next week but just praying we dont balls it up against Stoke.
Not just yet Wubba. If we go down its all not worth a fu*k. But if he keeps us up, the plaudits will rightly come his way.
exactly. CH can't Play LB anymore, but at Centre half he has been fantastic. He will need a massive game against Stoke, Anton is not the bestin the air and Kenny just refuses to come and collect. We've been wanting all season at defending crosses and set pieces, yesterday we looked comfortable , will be different against the giants of stoke.
Agree with they Swordster but we must be riding high in the form table and if ever there was a time to have a late run it's now
This bloke is already QPR as is Diakite.... excellent buys all of them... wannock = swp, barton, betty etc .. sort of rest my case Barton has proved me wrong and i stand corrected in my orthopaedic high heels
I think you're being harsh on old Nel. He had no-one left to buy and Betty was a free because he wasn't given any money. If I remember correctly we all said SWP was a good signing at the time, whatever about Barton. Circumstances conspired badly against COLIN. Never underestimate the importance of a good pre-season.
Wise words Swords. But at the same time, Warnock/ the club never had the contacts or networks to find foreign loans like Taiwo and Diakite, or the bottle to go for a Cisse. Sparky's horizons are much broader, as we will see in the summer.
Taye, this one's for you
TBF he's now becoming the Anti-Christ on this board. Never underestimate the importance of a good witch hunt. "In Warnock we trust". Such loyalty, devotion and non-fickleness.
