It's kind of important to point out that MON beat the most expensive Rangers team in history with the most expensive team in our history (by quite a distance as well) - it could be well argued that Strachan and Lennon have had to cut the cloth accordingly as a result of us overspending for a couple of years in order to keep up with (what turned out to be) reckless hyperspending (overspending doesn't seem a strong enough word when you're spending millions but putting up f**k all).

Lennon is the best we'll get. Don't forget the Huns still idolise Smith and Lennon took his (far more expensive - despite the fact they were hovering over death's door) team apart in their last season.

Some of us are old enough to remember Macari, Brady, McNeill's latter seasons in his second period, Hay and Dr Jo and remember what having a dodgy manager was actually like.

I disagree on the expensive o'neil team. Ill bet both strachan and lennon individually have spent as much (if not more) than o'neill did in his 5 seasons. (Although neither strachan and lennon inherited a larsson and a lubo etc)

It's all relative. Lennon's getting pumped out of cups by teams with a 1,000th of his budget.

Did MON not get pumped out of cups by teams with a millionth of his budget?

Yes, he did.

O'Neill never took us to the last 16 of the CL.

O'Neill never got us an away point in the CL.

If O'Neill had Lennon's budget, we'd have bought Valgaeran and Balde and that would've been it.

It's all relative though, like you say. What would Lennon have got with the money we spent on Sutton and Hartson? Nobody knows is the honest answer but he got us better results in the Champions' League with less money.

Could this be the first time in history a manager with an unbeaten league team has come under pressure from some of his own fans?

We've lost two domestic games all season FFS.

The next few seasons won't be a relentless march to total victory like some He-Man cartoon.

We're unbeaten in the league and have made money in the process with the playing staff costs well down.

I don't think any manager in history at any club has managed that.

I moaned when we didn't get the penalty box striker we needed but I didn't want to change manager and I certainly don't want to change because we got beat by the 2nd best team in the country who were acheiving their biggest result of the season.

Bib

He's also the first Celtic manager never to have faced a league challenge from any other team.

We could probably have no manager and still stroll the SPFL.

2 games we shouldve been able to win and they mattered more than league games as they were one offs. All this clean sheet/unbeaten run stuff is absolute guff for morons, what counts is results and silverware in the cabinet at the end of the season. Lennons cup record is absolutely shocking. I dont want to change because of this defeat by aberdeen, its the various emergent patterns that concern me.

Quite agree. Get McInnes in now.

Getting rid may be harsh. But we can voice our concerns

There is just no need to play 1 striker in a game in Scotland

He is playing the same players week in week out and not giving players he signed (for big money Biton, Balde, Boerigter even Pukki) a game. All we had left was the scottish cup. Its his job to get the team up for that

If players dont perform - and Forrest and Samaras havent performed consistently this year then dont pick them. It will give them a boot up the hole and give those chosen a chance to show us whether they deserve a try.

If its not working then change it up. He didnt and doesnt do this.

Im not saying he should be sacked. Just try new things. There is no better time for him to experiment and see if the players we already have and paid lots of money for can do something
