My point is that it's increasingly difficult to get anyone good to play in scotland, irrespective of who the manager is. Back in Strachan's day we were in the second pot of seeds for the CL group. Now we have to go through 3 rounds of qualifying before which nobody even semi-decent will commit to coming here. So we have to take chances on players from the lesser european leagues or young guys who may or may not turn out to be OK. That's the horribly ****e reality. And I'm not sure any manager that we could realistically attract would be able to do that much better. He still wouldn't be able to go out and buy the proven quality that is required for us to improve to the sort of level we would all like - ie entertaining football that is competitive at a european level.
Nonsense. We have Pawlett, Hayes, McGinn and Rooney who ripped you a new one in the Cup. Lemon just buys players for the sake of it. And why Celtic have Lennoxtown when they dont use the youngsters. Waste of time money and effort.
Yes, that's right old chap. No doubt. By the way, I don't think I've ever had this conversation with you - what do you reckon to Bowie's album from last year? Decent imo, but no classic.
Bonkers - all of a sudden if we are discussing neil lennon football ceases to become a results driven business - and , no, I wasnt calling for Strachan to be sacked, but why do you think thats relevant ?
that they would be impeccable is given ... unbeaten in the league - wow ! ... and utterly pointless, a sop to the mindless and a totally lost opportunity to move the team on
Oh yes. How silly of me. Mind you - all this talk of the cup being the big games. Shame there's complete apathy amongst the wider fanbase until the final (or at best the semis). Roughly 15,000 at the league cup game (a figure so embarrassingly low Celtic didn't even release it to the press). And folk wonder why the players/Lennon aren't (apparently) "up for the cup" - well neither are the fans.
