Being cynical I guess the real plan is to pretend to us supporters that they are putting in decent and realistic bids for these targets and when it all goes tits up they will bring in yet another journey man loan deal on deadline day! When will these morons who supposedly run our club ever learn!?!
We only know of 4 which have been confirmed, St Ledger, Pearce, Ward and one other. Alot of bids/enquiries are kept on the quiet. Clearly by Portsmouth publicly announcing that they have turned bids down for Pearce and Ward basically means they are for sale start the bidding war!! Also do you bid for example for 4 CB's at one time and then sign 2 CB's who were infact not your top transfer targets when it transpires that you could have actually signed your top targets??
