    It's fair to say KLD and Speakman's policy/approach/model of investing in youth has worked and it's taken plenty by surprise.

    As it stands we have a solid base of young, hungry, talented players who will only appreciate in value.

    Speakman's job is to keep going with even better youngsters and I think he'll do it. If everything goes well I wouldn't be shocked at mid table which would go against the grain of most promoted teams going straight back down.

    I'd say 90% of local journalists don't understand what's going on, they've been unashamedly focused on NUFC and their owners.

    Keith Downie's "You probably all hate me" video was a great example of them trying to circle back as quickly as possible.

    I don’t blame Keith for not reporting much on Sunderland. He’s doing what Sky are telling him to. We should blame Sky for their laser focus on the premier league and reluctance to cover the football league despite being its rights holder
