I am extremely pleased with the Caulker signing. We will really have a solid and experienced defence with Onuoha, Ferdinand and Caulker, and we even have good back-ups. It also makes the three centre backs and wingbacks option a potential reality. I strongly believe a good defence is imperative as if it is shakey then the rest of the team is not able to properly function as every body "is waiting to cover" for mistakes and sits too far back and does not commit to attack, resulting in a misbalenced and disfunctioning team. We can now tick the defence box and focus on strengthening the midfield and attack, because at the end of the day, as mentioned in the OP, the key objective is to get wins (not draws) which means we need to score goals. To summarise, a superb signing for the club. Well done!
