Tapping up?

I may be being stupid but how can Mourinho get away with tapping up Rooney and encourage him to hand in a transfer request, without getting in trouble?
Didn't we get a lot of **** over our pursuit of Dempsey last season?

On a separate note, is Paul Lambert right about the big clubs getting the decisions. Again last night refs seem to allow the chavs to play basketball in their penalty area? And can you imagine the outrage if had been Suarez taking that pathetic dive that Ashley cole performed?

To be fair after about 10 mins Man Utd should have been down to 10 men - Valencia with his reckless ankle breaker of a tackle.

i don't fully understand this tapping up malarkey, but isnt it only an issue as far as the FA are concerned if the club who may lose the player they have to complain first.

have to ask why some clubs complain and some don't, bit like Fergie and his media blank, other managers wouldn't have got away with that shiite.

If you listen carefully to what Maurinho said then he started by saying "we didn't start this thing." Therefore anything that he says is in response to what they have been told. ie they are being responsive and not initiating anything. Neither did he hide his/Chelsea's interest in the player - why should he? So he told the truth - if you want to come to us say so - equally if you want to stay at United say so. There's no tapping-up in that!

He's saying that Rooney 'started' Chelsea's interest & that if the player no longer wants to move then he needs to say so - Rooney has made no public comment on wanting to move......

They bid £28m for the pair - we told them to **** off.

That's where it is at the minute mate.

Someone I trust told me that Moyes asked Baines to hand in a transfer request last week & he refused.

My gut feel is that they'll make one more bid for the pair, which will be rejected & they'll return with a bid solely for Fellaini & a deal will be struck at around £25m.

Wasn't Mourinho in effect challenging Rooney to hand in a transfer request? That's the decision he has to make.

I really don't care... all that matters is minutes after a bore 0-0 utd are now in the center of a majorly distracting transfer saga that should by rights run right until our game on sunday.

I hope rooney does a cayabe now.... its all good.
