Rogers would have been asked a question and answered it. I dont see anything wrong with his reply either. Mind games?????? No.
Only Malky can win this, actually. Tan sacks him, he gets a job at another Prem club. The manager is defended by the press who at the same time label Tan as power mad and having no clue about how football works, by not quitting Malky is not throwing away his leaving package so he gets cash out of Tan anyway and deservedly so. Cardiff is not guaranteed of attracting a better manager by any stretch, Tan thinks he buy success but he doesn't have the available cash to actually fund it. He is rich in assets but not in monetary reserves compared to the Top 6 owners because his wealth is locked up in his companies which are far more important to him than the football club. As highlighted by the fact he will not provide money to strengthen and a supposedly saw an overspend of £15,000,000. Tan is a megalomaniac yet he doesn't have the power to actually influence the income of silverwear, he is his own worst enemy. Some on this board say this line of thinking is a Jack wum, but what about everyone else who is saying the same thing? It is obvious the whole football world don't have it in for Cardiff, it is just how the outsiders see it and the issue of Cardiff debt being over 10% of Tan total worth is the reason the media still bring it up, that includes cash and assets combined by the way.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25457024 Cardiff City: Malky Mackay told to quit or be sacked by Vincent Tan Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has been told by owner Vincent Tan to resign or he will be sacked. In a letter emailed to Mackay on Monday, it is understood Tan listed in depth his grievances with the Scot. Tan criticised 41-year-old Mackay at length in a range of areas, such as signings, transfer budgets, results on the pitch and style of play. The Malaysian businessman also questioned the former Watford manager's record as a boss. Mackay has previously said he will not resign. A Cardiff spokesman told BBC Sport: "The club is not party to any letter sent from one person to another." The correspondence came on the same day the Malaysian businessman issued a statement through Cardiff chief executive Simon Lim criticising Mackay. Tan said he was "extremely upset" after Mackay revealed he was hoping to recruit three new players in the January transfer window. The ex-Scotland international, who was named Cardiff boss in June 2011, led the Welsh club to promotion from the Championship seven months ago, but his future became uncertain when head of recruitment, Iain Moody, was removed from his position in October. Tan's concerns surrounds a perceived overspend of the transfer budget agreed between Mackay, Lim and Moody. Cardiff broke their transfer record three times over the summer, signing striker Andreas Cornelius for £7.5m, defender Steven Caulker for £8m and then midfielder Gary Medel for £11m. The owner claims the total budget was £35m and that £50m was spent including add-ons. Mackay and Moody have denied those claims, insisting the £35m was solely for transfer fees and that Lim and Tan had no complaints about that rising with add-ons.
Project I think you have made some fair comments there, aussie tends to wum it up a bit though. As far as Malky is concerned he will be ok, at some club, but any club looking past this debacle will see it's not all that great, the smarter clubs might avoid him for the time being, there are a few concerns that we fans hope he will turn around, it's not a bed of roses with him. On the other hand, Tan , knowing nothing of football will not hesitate to get shot of Malky when it suits him, so has the honours in this fight, he will call it when he wants to, ergo: he holds the cards.
Source? Because the club have denied that and none is mentioned. The fact it's on BBC would have been good enough in years gone by but they're as sensationalist as the ****ing tabloids nowadays (I'm starting to sound a real old bastard). Not sticking my head in the sand, before the jacks say it, just questioning the validity of the article. Not least as the ultimatum was apparently presented on Monday.
Yeah the BBC have gone to **** in terms of journalism, spending most of their time stuck up Man Utd's arse, but David Ornstein isn't as bad as Phil Mccunty et al.
Malky has made mistakes and I dont blame Tan if he doesnt give him any more money. However hes just won The Football League and out of the relegation zone. Weve also most of the bottom teams to play at home. The only 2 of the weaker sides weve had at home weve beaten. Sacking him is wrong. But the club goes on. Hopefully theres a billionaire who will buy Tan out soon. Cos thats whats needed. Best to just concentrate on the football.
Does it? It is not a disaster yet but you do not want your club to become a periah. I hope you don't end up with a saga like at Blackburn.
It looks as though someone has leaked this email. If its not true id expect a denial very quickly on the official site.
Feeling for you guys it has to be said. It was horrendous for us under Hicks and Gillette which almost sunk us. I hope it doesn't go that route and into court but you must, obviously, stand up to them. Can't believe their treatment of the Mackay. One thing I would say is beware of the BBC. They talk as much **** as any redtop.
Tan is digging a big hole for himself and nobody of any worth will want to play for him. Rodgers is not the only manager who is astonished at the way tan runs the club as his way or the highway attitude....He is heading for a fall where he will be lucky to get any paying customers.....they would rather go to tesco's...
This is terrible. However, as a Hull City fan, I'm almost relieved that we're not the only ones being f*cked over by an owner who knows nothing about football. Give him hell, boys.
The FA have got to start tightening up on dozy foreigners owning our clubs. We've got enough nutty ones of our own. If it means the Premier League loses funding and suffers accordingly.... so be it. At least we will have some sanity and tradition back.
Club has denied knowledge of any email. Delusional maybe Glam, I certainly won't cut up my st's and send them back. I've always been a facts type of guy. I like things to happen, then I get all emotional. Right now a Bbc reporter says an email was sent on Monday. It's almost Friday and he hasn't resigned or been sacked. Those are the facts. I obviously understand the smoke without fire type attitude where by everyone has decided he's gone already its just not my style because I've read enough media bullshit presented as absolute fact to last me a lifetime. If you are correct and he goes tonight/tomorrow I'll be furious, right now though its all just media speculation till something happens. If bbc could publish the email or name the person at the club who revealed it I'd take that back. I seem to remember that MM was definitely leaving at the time of the moody fiasco.
There is this about the BBC. If it's ain't Salford Town 'United' then it's more often garbage. But, I fear that this story has more than a whiff of truth behind it.
Saints fan in peace. Looking forward to coming up to your place on boxing day. Not really sure whats going on with your club at the moment and whether Malky will be there much longer, but was just wondering, are there any fans who actually back Tan and some of his actions or are the fans united behind Malky. Although Tan comes accross as a bit of a ****er, from the outside it does seem he has backed you financially and in some of his points has a right to be pissed off with Malky? Im not that clued up on the whole power struggle so someone feel free to enlighten me.
tan dont understand one thing about how football works or how its run and that is the problem in a nutshell...Malky is doing a good job and he is being undermined by someone who doesn't have a clue....nobody can do a proper job under those conditions and future managers the good ones will have reservations of working under tan. It takes years to make a profit if at all as most clubs never see a profit in their lifetime and i don't think tan realized that when he took over the club....Now we have malky and his staff taking the blame for the amount of money that has been spent and that is not on afterall tan himself must have signed the cheques for any money to be spent anyway...
