If we were buying Abrahams then I would consider it okay but again on the basis we do get a main striker. If we are loaning him, then no. As Haidara's Fan Boy says we should be stretching Armstrong to see if he can step up and determine if he's going to make the grade. He's now 20yo and I don't see the point in loaning him out again. Who to? Another Championship team? Why?
Why help Chelsea develop another player who if he makes it goes back to them and if he doesn't then it's at our expense. Yes he may be a success for a year but then again we have then wasted that year in progressing Armstrong.
As the Ponytail says, why not just scrap our youth teams and allow Chelsea, Man City and the likes to hoover up all young talent and get everyone else to test them so that they can then decide whether to keep them or not. Also what message does it give any young player thinking of coming to NUFC.
Abrahams seems a good player but so does Armstrong. Pointless having him if we never give him a chance to prove if he's good enough. He'll not do that at Coventry or Barnsley but he could do it here and here is the only place he can prove it.
Also wish ALL Clubs would stop taking loan players as this does not ultimately help anyone but the top 4/6 Clubs.
