I just hope that the 2nd player is not Essam ( we can assume that Gazza is the other one ) - or are we talking about Payne ? I wouldn't want to see any of these players leave - but if we take good money - with add ons etc..... Allen states that he will have a bigger budget for replacements. Hopefully those replacements will be good enough to get us promoted - otherwise it's always a dilema to take money but weaken the team.
 
safe to say it's gazza who i hope is loaned back to us and either one of jack payne or ashley miller.

how does allen work out gillingham will be better for letting these go, so that we can sign someone with less talent ???
 
Couldn't spot Gazzaniga on the Le Touquet picture gallery on the O/S. Couldn't manage to see Miller either so maybe those are the two. Rumours are that we will get Gazzaniga back for the season on a loan which if true, would be terrific business as we could only realistically keep him for another season anyway plus around £1 mill would be very helpful to the cause.
 
Batchinator - Miller is on the 4th photo wearing the jacket with number 11 on it. As to Paulo I also couldn't see him within the photos but Hawkes and Flitney are also nowhere to be seen within the photos which may mean that none of the keepers travelled, or that they were being trained away from the rest of the squad and away from the cameras.
 
Ahh ok fair enough, I couldn't spot him so thanks for clearing that up. Flitney is still injured and Hawkes is supposedly going to be loaned out soon...
 
No problem :) and Im not saying that they are definitely there either, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Gazza was to move on soon so it would make sense if he wasn't with the rest of the squad.
 
payne moving on would make the fact we've been linked with central midfielders when we dont need any more reasonable!! unfortunatly :(

alwaysright - I know it does not mean much but Connor Essam has tweeted about being out in France. I'm wondering if they would take him and work him so hard (going by his tweets), if they were close to any deal regarding him. Therefore I doubt it, just a personal opinion nothing more.

He has only just signed a new deal so I doubt he would go.

no matter how long essam has, deals mean nothing nowadays hoadie...except a better deal for his present club if he has a few years left !

and brb i very much doubt it's essam who is wanted at this stage of his career and as you state...he's training with the rest of the squad. it's looking like it's gazza and payne all day long.

if they both go, which i'd rather they didn't !, i just hope we get the best deals for gillingham fc and done as quick as possible so we can recruit players...along with gazza staying for the season <ok>
 
The likelihood is that it will be Payne going along with Gazza and listening to Allen suggests he would rather have a significantly higher budget to use on the XI than to keep those two. If Championship and Premier League clubs are interested then it would be foolish to not sell if they're offering a good price.

Firstly I'd like to repeat that I don't want to see Gazza, Payne or Essam leave the club.
I would 'expect' that the 2nd player is Payne. One reason why I was worried that it might be Essam is that it would leave us with No decent centre back - except for Callum -( because I don't count Frampton at the moment ! )( we are very light in this department - before any possibility that Essam was to be sold.) Listening to Allen in interviews it is obvious that Gills will sell the two players. As g4e has said - get the deals done quickly.
Although there might be a possibility that Gazza may be loaned back to us,( great ) I feel that, if the 2nd player is Essam it would, at this stage, be of a more serious weakening of the squad than the departure of Payne or Gazza.

agreed always, i think even though it's a sad day should gazza & payne leave us shortly, connor essam would a bigger loss as things stand in the team with the way he's performed, plus the fact we are light in defence.
the fact that payne never had his best season along with injury last year meant we managed with him not being available and we would should he leave now better than any other area on the pitch with jackman and lee or montrose.

just hope that with this being two of the best young players we have had with there potential talent that have come out of the club in a long while, that we get the best deals possible...and thats something i keep repeating thats essential to our football club short and longterm !!!

have heard the usual rumours that loan deals could be involved with these two deals i.e. gazza coming back and payne going to west ham and robert hall coming in a season long loan to us ???
 
I want to say thank you to those, that followed my now edited message, in reference to OP link posted in the the early hours of Sunday morning on not606. I eventually decided to post the link on twitter last night and it is now doing the rounds.
