More pertinently, did Hazrd apologise for kicking a child? (If he's 17 he is still, by law, a child)

nicked this off the Guardian comments - made me lol!:

You've got to hand it to Swansea, even their ball boys are good at retaining the ball

So the child is castigated more than the multi millionaire professional adult.

Sad state of affairs and unfortunately it has masked an amazing Jack performance.

Good thing is, we will be the unfavourites of the nation come Wembley.....just as we like it!!

Glad you ain't mine, my dad would give me a rollicking for acting like a total pleb, and I would have learnt from it. But that doesn't excuse Hazard either ;)

...and I'm glad as well. :)

I note you've omitted the part about me saying Hazard was wrong as well. Remember, this was a a 'child' who posted on Twitter before the game: "King of the ball boys returns tonight. Needed for time wasting" <doh>

Do you not see how this crap reflects badly on our Club at a time when we've been praised from all quarters? Both parties were wrong and both seem to recognise that with the way this has died a death (apart from on the forums).

It reflects alot worse for Chelsea though and thats whats important here, everything media wise is looking at them and not us. They are the news story and i suspect our club will be totally unscathed in all of this .

Yes, Hazard was 'more wrong' as he's the professional here, but I'm not buying the "poor little child" story either.

The kid? The child? . He was 17 and deserved to be kicked into the stands the little ****. Some people need to grow a pair and realise this is football.

Saying that, I'm glad you beat them tonight as its always nice to see the big boys knocked out. Well done <ok>

Most important is Well done! for getting through to the final and good luck! but there was no need for the ball-boy to deliberately take it upon himself to run the clock down when you had eleven outfield players capable of doing it in the time honoured way. To be fair Hazard only kicked the ball to release it as to get on with it and didn't bank on the Rooneyesque rolling around as shot by a sniper which made more of a quite laughable situation.

Hazard should have left him alone as the ref would have, as he did, added the time on...but still, in all seriousness, Hazard has barely touched him! He has tried to poke the ball out from the stupid idiot who was lying on it!!! Whether the ref has followed the letter of the law or not he shouldn't have been sent off...the most embarrassing moment of the entire ordeal was the little twat wincing as he was helped off as if someone had just shot him in the ribs!! Will massively detract from the fact we beat the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS over two legs without conceding a goal!!!

I agree with you, but 2 wrongs dont make a right. The whole incident was 10 seconds long. It was our ball. Hazard had no cause to be there. If they ( Chelsea) had been 3 up would they not have been wasting a little time. What the ballboy done was totally wrong, but you cant just assault him and that is what hazard did.

I wonder how many ball boys do this, or if it only comes up now because a player reacted to it. As someone said after the game: "it's a part of the home advantage." I don't know if I agree with this, but still...

I'm not so sure Norway. I personally don't care what the media or anyone else makes of Chelsea, all I know is that this has definately brought us bad publicity. I agree that Hazard was an idiot to do what he did, but the way the ballboy acted made me feel embarassed. I think the majority of people think both were in the wrong but Hazards kick was supidity on the players part.

The reason I feel the embarassment is that the ballboys had a plan to timewaste - already agreed before the kickoff. Hazard didn't have a plan - it was a heat of the moment thing. These sort of tactics may be all to common but I don't want our club to get a reputation for it. You can guarantee that the next match everyone will be keeping an eye on how the ballboys perform.

Me too. They're showing his adolescent mug on the TV now. I want to smack him. Hard.
