    I tell you what though. If the burglar is an ex-martial arts expert who's fallen on hard times and happens to be breaking into your home then I agree with you that you should take the law into your own hands <ok>

    By using "any means necessary" they are taking the law into their own hands and not allowing due process.
    the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 has codes of conduct by which Police have to abide by. The PSNI have co-opted these codes of conduct under the Police and Criminal Evidence Order 1989.
    These codes of conduct don't include passing judgement on rioters and using "any means necessary" to achieve the desired result. This is summary justice and taking the law into your own hands.

    Don't take my word for it, look it up. You'll need to know this when you join the cops.
    There is no difference in the eyes of the law. If you think the law is "stupid", then you hold no regard for the principles of due process.


    Or do you just think it's a stupid comparison because you contradicted yourself?

    On another note my friend had his house broken into by two gays, they didn't steal anything but they re-arranged the furniture.
